The Enterprise Technology Services organization partners with every part of the American Express business to power the company’s growth and innovation with trust and efficiency, and drive competitive differentiation with speed. We support the delivery and operations of technology, digital, and data capabilities, platforms, and services globally. Specifically, our team is responsible for the company’s technology engineering, architecture, and infrastructure, providing 24x7 support to ensure an uninterrupted, high-quality experience for customers and colleagues. We also provide product management for core enterprise platforms, and lead technology risk and information security, enterprise data governance and platforms, digital product and design, and enterprise AI platforms on behalf of the company.

  • Design, develop, and execute test automation frameworks for web applications, APIs, and performance testing.
  • Perform functional testing, regression testing, integration testing, and release validation.
  • Develop automated test scripts using Java, Selenium WebDriver (v3/v4), TestNG, and Cucumber (BDD).
  • Conduct API testing and automation using Rest Assured and Postman.
  • Implement performance and load testing using tools such as Gatling/Karate.
  • Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions). Must be proficient in writing GitHub Actions ymls file and customize per need hence able to construct job and pipelines
  • Work within Agile/Scrum teams, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Track and manage defects using Jira, ensuring end-to-end QA ownership.
  • Utilize GenAI tools (ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Gemini, Claude) to accelerate test development and code generation. AGENTIC, PROMPT Engineering and SKILLs.
  • Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and product teams to improve software quality, reliability, and security.
  • Have Advanced Java – Java EE expertise to maintain and develop code.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in Test Automation / QA Engineering / SDET roles.
  • Strong programming skills in Core Java with a solid understanding of OOP concepts.
  • Experience in test automation frameworks: Selenium, TestNG, Cucumber (BDD).
  • Hands-on experience with API testing (Rest Assured, Postman).
  • Proficiency in Python or Shell scripting.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools: GitHub Actions. Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions). Must be proficient in writing GitHub Actions ymls file and customize per need hence able to construct job and pipelines
  • Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases, including query writing and JDBC.
  • Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (Jira).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with performance testing tools such as Gatling or Karate.
  • Exposure cloud-based testing platforms (e.g., Sauce Labs).
  • Familiarity with IDE tools: IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm, Visual Studio Code.
  • Knowledge of web technologies (Node.js, Spring Boot).
  • Understanding DevOps practices, REST APIs, and workflow orchestration tools (Temporal, N8N).
  • Experience leveraging AI/GenAI tools for automation and productivity.
  • Strong analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and a continuous learning mindset.
