Responsibilities
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitLab
- Automate infrastructure provisioning with Terraform
- Manage containerized deployments using Docker and AWS ECS
- Create and maintain shared deployment tooling, pipeline templates, and Terraform modules
- Integrate automated quality, security, and accessibility gates into GitLab pipelines
- Configure monitoring and observability tooling
- Support security vulnerability remediation
- Participate in on-call and production triage rotations
- Collaborate with cloud architects, backend engineers, and security teams
- Author and maintain runbooks, deployment documentation, and ADRs
- Support recruiting efforts by evaluating homework assignments and potentially assisting with interviews
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent additional experience
- Must meet federal suitability requirements and pass a background investigation
- Hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, ECS, RDS, S3, Lambda, and CloudWatch
- Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure-as-code provisioning and drift prevention
- Demonstrated experience building and optimizing CI/CD pipelines in GitLab
- Strong working knowledge of containerization using Docker and container orchestration on AWS ECS
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices including SAST, dependency scanning, and automated vulnerability remediation
- Solid understanding of networking, virtualization, and cloud infrastructure fundamentals
Preferred
- Experience managing infrastructure across 10+ AWS accounts with agency-level data isolation requirements
- Familiarity with Kubernetes or comparable container orchestration platforms
- Experience with observability tooling such as Grafana, New Relic, or CloudWatch synthetic monitoring
- Prior work in federal environments or familiarity with FedRAMP, FISMA, or ATO processes
- Experience supporting SAFe or scaled Agile delivery teams as a platform or infrastructure provider
