Overview
Aluminum Dynamics Inc is seeking an IT Systems Engineer for our Starkville/Columbus Mississippi Greenfield State of the art Aluminum UBC Recycling and slab casting facility. The position will serve as the primary on-site IT resource, providing day-to-day technology support and maintaining reliable IT services across UBC facilities. This is a hands-on, independent role responsible for end-user support, local infrastructure, technology deployment, documentation, and coordination of IT needs.
The Systems Engineer works closely with the Aluminum Dynamics (ADL) IT team, escalating complex issues and utilizing ADL IT resources for enterprise infrastructure, cybersecurity, and project support as needed.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary IT contact for UBC employees and leadership.
- Provide support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, software, peripherals, conference rooms, and office technology.
- Deploy, replace, maintain, and inventory IT equipment.
- Troubleshoot local network, wired, and wireless connectivity issues.
- Maintain network closets, structured cabling, patch panels, and equipment rooms.
- Provide on-site support for servers, network equipment, cameras, and other infrastructure.
- Provide smart-hands support for ADL IT projects and escalated incidents.
- Coordinate with ADL IT and vendors when additional technical expertise is required.
- Maintain IT documentation, asset records, and work-order status.
- Follow ADL IT standards, cybersecurity practices, and company safety requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve technology reliability and user experience.
Qualifications
Required
- Professional experience supporting business IT environments.
- Strong desktop, hardware, software, and network troubleshooting skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, and TCP/IP networking.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize issues, and take ownership through resolution.
- Strong communication, documentation, and customer-service skills.
Preferred
- Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, VMware, and Microsoft 365 administration.
- Familiarity with Cisco networking, enterprise server/storage, backup technologies, and structured cabling.
- Network+, Security+, CCNA, Microsoft, VMware, or related certifications.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
