Job Summary

Role Purpose

Candescent is seeking a thoughtful, detail-oriented UI/UX Designer to shape the look, feel, and usability of our website and digital experiences from one of our India office locations. You will design intuitive, on-brand experiences from wireframe through high-fidelity mockup, working closely with web, marketing, and product marketing teams to bring ideas to life.

This is a hands-on design role for someone who enjoys solving user problems through clean, purposeful design and who wants to see their work built and shipped quickly. You will work closely with the web development team to ensure designs are implemented accurately and responsively.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables

What you will be responsible for and what you will do

Design & Delivery

  • Design wireframes, mockups, and high-fidelity UI for web pages, landing pages, and digital experiences in Figma.
  • Translate business goals and user needs into intuitive user flows and information architecture.
  • Design and iterate on landing pages and campaign assets in support of marketing and demand generation initiatives.
  • Support A/B testing initiatives by designing test variants for key pages and conversion flows.

Design Systems & Consistency

  • Create and maintain a design system and component library to ensure visual consistency across the site.
  • Apply Candescent brand standards consistently across all digital work, including typography, colour, iconography, and imagery.
  • Ensure designs follow accessibility best practices (WCAG) and are optimised for performance.

Research & Validation

  • Conduct or contribute to user research and usability testing, and gather feedback to inform design decisions.
  • Use analytics and test results to identify usability problems and prioritise improvements.
  • Stay current on design trends, tools, and best practices, and bring fresh ideas to the team.

Collaboration & Ways of Working

  • Collaborate closely with the web development team to ensure designs are implemented accurately and responsively, and support a clean handoff.
  • Partner with stakeholders across marketing, product marketing, and sales to gather requirements and present design concepts.
  • Present and explain design decisions clearly, and incorporate feedback constructively.
  • Maintain a working schedule with sufficient overlap with US business hours on at least a few days each week to enable live collaboration, reviews, and handoffs.

Experience

Demonstrated skills, competencies, and required experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in UI/UX design, preferably for web or digital marketing.
  • Strong proficiency in Figma, including components, auto layout, and prototyping.
  • Solid portfolio demonstrating strong visual design, typography, and layout skills.
  • Understanding of responsive design principles and designing for multiple breakpoints and devices.
  • Working knowledge of UX best practices, user flows, and information architecture.
  • Ability to translate business and marketing goals into clear, user-centred design solutions.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to present and explain design decisions to stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented, with a strong sense of visual polish and consistency.

Qualifications & Preferred Distinctions

Additional accomplishments

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Interaction Design, Visual Communication, or a related field; equivalent professional experience and a strong portfolio will be considered.
  • Hands-on experience building or editing sites in Webflow is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of HTML and CSS and how designs translate to code is preferred.
  • Experience with user research or usability testing methods is a plus.
  • Familiarity with A/B testing and conversion rate optimisation principles is a plus.
  • Experience designing for SEO-friendly page structures is a plus.
  • Experience supporting financial services, technology, B2B, SaaS, or enterprise software brands is preferred.
  • Experience collaborating across geographies and time zones is helpful.

What Success Looks Like

  • Designs are intuitive, on-brand, and elevate the overall user experience.
  • Design-to-development handoff is smooth, with minimal rework needed.
  • A well-maintained, scalable design system that speeds up future work.
  • Measurable improvements in usability and conversion on redesigned pages.
  • Stakeholders receive clear rationale for design decisions, not just deliverables.

What Will Make You Successful

  • Genuine curiosity about how users behave, and willingness to let evidence change the design.
  • Comfort designing within an established brand system rather than starting from a blank page.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high standard of craft and quality.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and shifting priorities without losing momentum.
  • Clear, proactive communication with stakeholders across geographies and time zones.
  • A collaborative, low-ego working style and a genuine willingness to give and receive feedback.
  • Strong organisation, follow-through, and accountability in a global, fast-paced environment.

Portfolio Submission

Required with every application

A portfolio is mandatory for consideration. Applications submitted without a portfolio link or PDF will not be reviewed. Please include a link to an online portfolio or an attached PDF, with access credentials if the work is password protected, along with three to five selected pieces that best demonstrate your web and digital design work. For each piece, include a short note describing the brief, your specific contribution, and the outcome.
