Lead Assistant Manager

Create securities in the security master system and maintain updates to the security record throughout the lifecycle of the instrument

Perform accurate asset setup across various instruments, including bank loans, bonds, and structured products

Manage daily pricing for all securities; perform price validation checks, investigate exceptions, and coordinate with vendors on pricing coverage and challenges

Maintain consistent, accurate, and complete security master data across OMS, accounting, and risk systems by executing routine and targeted data maintenance tasks

Use SQL to query, validate, and reconcile large datasets across systems (including Redshift and/or Snowflake environments)

Support automation and efficiency initiatives, including responsible use of AI tools to streamline operational processes

Resolve data breaks and support downstream teams (Accounting, Risk, Compliance, Client Reporting) with pricing and reference data inquiries

Design, document, and execute data management processes under established governance frameworks

In conjunction with IT, support specifications, testing, and enhancements to tools and applications used to maintain data integrity

Identify areas of operational risk within asset setup and pricing workflows and escalate issues appropriately

Execute assigned data-related initiatives and projects, with primary responsibility focused on operational execution

Support management reporting and analysis using tools such as SQL, Sigma, PowerBI, and PowerPoint

Qualifications for Internal Candidates

In terms of trade processing and corporate actions, the resource will handle security master file reconciliation, trade reconciliation and posting, liaise with brokers and banks for allocations and settlements, and process corporate actions according to their type, instructing the bank accordingly. For derivative margin calls and payments, they will reconcile and process daily margin calls, monitor securities movement on the bank website, and update payment instructions as per contract maturity, including settlement monitoring. The resource will also be responsible for investment pricing and reporting, reconciling and reporting prices for each security to portfolio managers for approval. They will comprehend documents related to private placements, private equities, and tax credits, record transactions in relevant systems, instruct at the bank, and monitor funding. Additionally, they will handle NAIC reporting and filing, month/quarter end reporting for securities and derivatives, and maintain documentation while handling audit requests.

4-6 years of experience in Investment Operations.
