Ford is seeking a Manufacturing Learning and Development Operations Supervisor to strengthen capability across the global manufacturing network. This Supervisor role is responsible for translating enterprise learning strategy, governance decisions, capability standards, and workforce development priorities into practical plans, tools, reporting, and execution support for plants and cross-functional partners.
The role will focus on the execution of the Manufacturing Capabilities Framework, Manufacturing Learning Council, Learning Needs Assessment processes, Learning Data and Evaluation strategy, Plant Training and Development Lead operating model, and communications that help ensure consistent deployment, measurable readiness, and continuous improvement across Global Ford Manufacturing.
What you'll do ...
•
Oversee the enterprise Manufacturing Learning Operations roadmap by coordinating inputs, tracking actions, preparing materials, and helping translate priorities into executable workplans.
- Provide leadership in maintaining and continuously improving the Manufacturing Capabilities Framework, including content updates, stakeholder feedback tracking, version control, documentation, and alignment with evolving manufacturing technologies, processes, and skills requirements.
- Deliver the enterprise Learning Needs Assessment process across plants by preparing templates, calendars, data collection tools, interviews or workshop materials, and summary outputs that highlight capability gaps and recommended learning priorities.
- Coordinate the Learning Data and Evaluation activities by gathering, validating, analyzing, and reporting metrics related to workforce skills gaps, training needs, completion, adoption, program effectiveness, readiness, and learning impact.
- Develop dashboards, reporting templates, standard work, and recurring updates that enable the LL5 leader, HR partners, Manufacturing leaders, and Plant Training and Development Leads to make data-informed decisions.
- Support the Manufacturing Learning Council operations, including agenda planning, pre-read preparation, meeting logistics, action tracking, decision documentation, and follow-up communications.
- Partner with plant, regional, HR, Learning and Development, Ford Production System, and business stakeholders to support consistent deployment of learning processes, standards, and solutions across the manufacturing network.
- Drive the development of the Ford Production System team monthly newsletter and website updates by collecting content, organizing learning resources, preparing drafts, maintaining publishing calendars, and ensuring communications are clear and timely.
- Identify process improvement opportunities in learning operations, governance routines, reporting practices, and plant support processes, then recommend and help implement practical solutions.
- Role model a learner-first mindset and a culture of collaboration, inclusion, continuous improvement, and learning across Manufacturing Learning and Development activities.

Bachelor's degree in related fields such as Learning/Instructional design in Manufacturing, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Learning and Development, manufacturing operations, HR, organizational development, project management, or related field.
- Experience supporting learning, training, capability building, competency frameworks, skills matrices, or workforce development programs.
- Experience managing cross-functional projects, workplans, meetings, deliverables, documentation, and stakeholder follow-up in a matrix environment.
- Strong analytical skills with experience gathering, organizing, interpreting, and presenting data to support decisions, reporting, and continuous improvement.
- Strong written, verbal, facilitation, and presentation skills, with the ability to create clear materials for plant, HR, and business audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships, influence without direct authority, manage priorities, and deliver results with multiple stakeholders.
- Proficiency with learning systems, collaboration tools, spreadsheets, dashboards, presentation tools, and standard office technology.
- Ability to work with confidential employees, learning, and business information in accordance with company policies.

Experience in manufacturing, automotive, plant, or production system environment.
- Knowledge of Adult Learning Theory, instructional design, curriculum development, learning evaluation, or needs assessment practices.
- Experience with LMS, LXP, skills management, learning analytics, Power BI, SharePoint, or similar reporting and collaboration platforms.
- Experience supporting governance forums, councils, communities of practice, or enterprise standard work deployment.
- Project management certification, learning certification, or relevant training such as CPLP/CPTD, Lean, Six Sigma, or Agile.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement methods, or tools such as Value Stream Mapping.

This position is a leadership salary grade 6 and ranges from $112,680-212,760.
