About Team

Corporate Tech services is invested in building a compact, robust organization that includes service operations and technology solutions for Finance, People, Associate Digital Experience. Within CTS, our team processes the payment for suppliers of Walmart Warehouses who spread across United States and other 26 countries including South Africa, Argentina, Canada, Central America, Chile, China, India, Japan, and Mexico. We ensure the timely and accurate payments by reconciling the supplier merchandise against the invoices presented for the items ordered.

• You are responsible for coding, unit testing, building high performance and scalable applications that meet the demands of Walmart home office users and suppliers across the world.
• You are expected to be an intellectually curious engineer who is passionate about accounting, supply chain and technology in general.

What you'll bring

• You have 3 to 6 years of software engineering experience in Java, Spring Boot technology stack.
• Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
• Development experience in Java 8 or above, lambda functions and related technologies.
• Strong in writing modular and testable code and test cases (unit, functional and integration) using frameworks like JUnit, Mockito, and Mock MVC.
• Strong Debugging / Profiling skills.
• Experience developing microservices architecture, and good understanding of distributed concepts, common design principles, design patterns and cloud concepts.
• Hands-on experience in Spring Boot, concurrency, garbage collection, RESTful services, data caching services and ORM tools.
• Experience working with Relational Databases and writing complex OLAP, OLTP and SQL queries.
• Experience in working with NoSQL Databases like Cosmos DB.
• Experience in working with Caching technology like Redis, Memcache or other related systems.
• Good knowledge in Pub-Sub systems like Kafka.
• Experienced in monitoring and alerting tools like Prometheus, Splunk, and other related systems and excellent in debugging and troubleshooting issues.
• Building tools and CI/CD pipelines to automate code delivery (Jenkins, Git, GitHub, Concord, Maven, and Gradle).
• Experience in containerization tools like Docker, Helm, Kubernetes.
• Prior exposure to public cloud platforms like Azure, GCP etc. will be an added advantage.
• Python — ability to read/write Python for scripting, data manipulation, or lightweight AI/ML tooling that complements the core Java stack.
• Familiarity with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) concepts — chunking and embedding documents, querying a vector store (e.g., Pinecone, Azure AI Search, pgvector), and grounding LLM responses in retrieved enterprise data.
• Exposure to integrating LLM APIs (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-source models) into backend services — calling completion/chat endpoints, handling structured outputs, and managing latency/error handling in production Java services.
• Some experience writing and iterating on prompts for well-defined tasks (summarization, classification, data extraction).
• Awareness of agentic workflow concepts (tool-calling, multi-step orchestration) and frameworks such as LangChain / LangGraph / Semantic Kernel.

General understanding of responsible AI basics

prompt injection risks, output validation/guardrails, PII handling, and cost-awareness when calling LLM APIs.

• Exposure to open-source LLM serving or fine-tuning concepts (vLLM, Ollama, LoRA) is a bonus.
• Active use of AI-assisted developer tooling (GitHub Copilot, Code Puppy, or similar) to accelerate day-to-day Java development is encouraged.

Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
