Job Summary

The Functional Manager Global ERP Operations has significant impact on achievement of operational goals by ensuring that any new software integration into company systems meets functional requirement. This position provides functional leadership over a managed service provider and an internal Business Systems Analyst team, ensuring reliable, scalable, and high‑quality D365 solutions that meet organizational needs. The Functional Manager oversees day-to-day ERP operations, including service requests, and project execution, ensuring timely resolution, quality delivery, and continuity of core business systems. Working closely with global business stakeholders, this role interprets business processes and challenges and translates them into clear functional requirements, user stories, and solution designs within D365. The individual applies strong business process knowledge, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills to drive adoption, optimize workflows, and maximize the value of Dynamics 365 investments. The Functional Manager also support D365 upgrades, module enhancements, ISV solutions, and Azure-based integrations, ensuring alignment with Microsoft best practices, security standards, and the enterprise application roadmap.

Systems Development Lifecycle

  • Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of existing Dynamics 365 solutions and supporting technologies; identify gaps, recommend improvements, and promote adoption of best practices to maximize business value.
  • Review and assess requests for services, enhancements, and system improvements by partnering with business stakeholders to clarify objectives, evaluate feasibility, and define business value and impact.
  • Lead the definition of functional and system requirements, including documentation of current and future‑state business processes, in alignment with enterprise ERP application design principles.
  • Ensure all new D365 configurations, ISV solutions, and integrations meet functional and end‑user requirements while complying with organizational security, compliance policies, and approved integration standards.
  • Develop comprehensive test strategies, scenarios, scripts, and use cases, with consideration for cross‑functional dependencies and end‑to‑end business process impacts.
  • Analyze test results to identify, prioritize, and resolve defects, configuration issues, and interoperability gaps in collaboration with technical teams and service providers.
  • Oversee small projects, workstreams, or phases of larger ERP initiatives, coordinating team activities, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and high‑quality delivery.
  • Contribute to ERP roadmap planning by developing functional strategies and implementation plans aligned to broader Dynamics 365 initiatives; prioritize initiatives in partnership with key business stakeholders.
  • Analyzes formal test results to discover and resolve defects, bugs, errors, configuration issues, and interoperability flaws.

Production Support (Run Time)

  • Is fully proficient in the end user functional processes performed within the supported applications like Order To Cash, Procure to Pay, Record to Report etc.
  • Performs application system administration functions specific to application setup, configuration and maintenance.
  • Performs system, process and application monitoring. gathers metrics and establishes baselines.
  • Lead testing for enhancement, new functionality and issue-bug fixes
  • Carries out procedures to ensure that all information systems products and services meet quality, organization standards and end user requirements.
  • Provides expertise and problem resolution to functional departments when issues extend outside the knowledge of the key departmental Key Users.
  • Serve as escalation point for business managers, key users and the global applications staff
  • Manage the IT delivery of training curriculum and materials, and responsible for overall technology adoption
  • Work closely with technical manager to deliver the functional solution.
  • Work closely with Work Stream and functional leads to define the requirements/solutions.
  • Monitors and review functional service requests to ensure services are delivered to SLA and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage ISV functionality changes, issue resolution and enhancements

Organization and Management

  • Hiring, mentoring and managing the performance of staff members including providing specific and constructive feedback to team members and completing annual performance reviews.
  • Develops budgets for IT organization
  • Ensure sufficient training for all staff members on all existing and new software.

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND 7+ years’ experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, information technology (IT) consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting
  • 5+ years of experience leading and managing direct reports of functional and technical resources

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in design, development, customization, Implementation, Integration, and administration of ERP which includes MS Dynamics 365 F&O solutions
  • Experience with full life-cycle implementations of D365 F&O and managing the production support team
  • 5+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in large teams in Microsoft Power Platform
  • Hands-on experience and strong functional expertise in pricing are required. Experience with the Flintfox ISV would be a significant advantage.
  • Strong understanding and hands-on implementation experience in Advanced warehouse Management, particularly for large-scale warehouse environments, is required. Practical experience working with ISV’s such as NMB and SPS is also needed
  • Process manufacturing experience is required, along with a solid understanding of formulas, co/by product handling and formula-based production processes.
  • Strong EDI knowledge is required, along with hands-on experience in mapping and troubleshooting EDI messages/errors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong experience in vendor management including management of ISVs deployed on D365 F&O platform
  • Proven Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work in a cross-functional team
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft D365 F&O and working knowledge of Microsoft D365 CRM
  • Strong advocate for adherence to standards, best practices, and delivery processes
  • Strong communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to develop strategic, ongoing relationships.
  • Experience with data cleansing, verification, and migration
  • Knowledge of master data management and data quality best practices.
  • Manufacturing industry experience is preferred.
  • Medical Devices or Life sciences industry experience is a strong plus.
  • Highly regulated industry experience is a strong plus.
  • Applicable Microsoft D365 Certifications

For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting base pay for this role is between $117,524 and $218,258 per year and may include cost of living adjustments. The actual base pay includes many factors and is subject to change and modification in the future. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation and benefits.
