Overview

As Mastercard continues to evolve its marketing model toward fewer but bigger priorities, stronger business alignment, and greater accountability for measurable outcomes, data, analytics, and performance measurement have become critical enablers of marketing success.

The Analyst, Marketing Data & Performance will support the Greater China Marketing team by connecting marketing activities to business outcomes through performance measurement, campaign analytics, reporting, and actionable insights. This role will help establish a data-driven culture by providing visibility into marketing effectiveness, consumer engagement, transaction impact, and investment performance.

Working across Consumer Marketing, B2B Marketing, Product Marketing, and Issuer Marketing, the role will help drive continuous optimization and improve decision-making through fact-based insights and performance reporting.

Role

The Analyst, Marketing Data & Performance is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to measure the effectiveness of Mastercard's marketing initiatives across Greater China.

The role will support campaign performance evaluation, dashboard development, business reporting, consumer insights generation, and marketing investment analysis to help ensure marketing resources are allocated efficiently and deliver measurable impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and maintenance of marketing performance dashboards and reporting frameworks.
  • Measure and analyze campaign effectiveness across consumer, issuer, product, and partner marketing initiatives.
  • Track key performance indicators including consumer engagement, transaction behavior, spend uplift, acquisition metrics, and business outcomes.
  • Prepare regular marketing performance reports and executive summaries for internal stakeholders.
  • Analyze marketing, customer, and transaction data to identify trends, opportunities, and optimization recommendations.
  • Support the development of marketing attribution, ROI, and effectiveness measurement methodologies.
  • Partner with business, finance, data, and marketing teams to improve visibility into marketing performance and investment effectiveness.
  • Leverage internal and external data sources to generate actionable consumer and market insights.
  • Support annual planning, business reviews, and campaign measurement exercises with data-driven recommendations.
  • Continuously improve reporting processes, data quality, and measurement standards across the marketing organization.

All About You

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Statistics, Economics, Marketing, Business Analytics, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Master's degree (MBA, Economics, Statistics, Analytics, or related discipline) preferred.
  • Experience in marketing analytics, business intelligence, performance measurement, market research, strategy consulting, or data analysis.
  • Experience with leading management consulting firms (e.g., McKinsey, Bain, BCG, Accenture, Deloitte, EY-Parthenon, Kearney, Oliver Wyman) or analytics-focused consulting organizations is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize large and complex datasets into actionable business insights.
  • Experience working with data visualization and analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Excel, SQL, or similar platforms.
  • Understanding marketing performance measurement, consumer analytics, segmentation, attribution modeling, and marketing effectiveness frameworks.
  • Ability to connect marketing activities to business outcomes, including customer acquisition, engagement, transaction growth, and commercial performance.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to data accuracy, rigor, and fact-based decision making.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex analyses into clear recommendations for senior business stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively across marketing, finance, product, and business teams.
  • Self-motivated, intellectually curious, and passionate about leveraging data to drive business growth and marketing effectiveness.
