Hourly Rate

$19.00 (Undergraduate) $ 21.00 (Graduate)

All internship positions are onsite and require regular, in-person attendance at the designated work location.

OVERVIEW OF DEPARTMENT

The MTA Information Technology (IT) department's mission is to deliver innovative and responsive solutions that enable safe, effective, and efficient transportation operations. The IT Assets management team manages, monitors, and tracks MTA IT’s assets, including hardware, software, and related services. This includes all technology assets for information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT).

The fellow will support distribution of mobile devices to field and office staff across 4 MTA locations within the next year. They will also manage documentation related to these distribution activities. This position begins in Spring 2027; candidates should be ready to commit minimum of 12‑months in the role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the management of lifecycle of mobile assets (Ordering, receiving, preparing, distributing, inventory, store, track, repair/replace, dispose).
  • Assist with responding to mobile device reported tickets and handle them accordingly.
  • Updating departmental records accurately and timely for all IT assets and services.
  • Support team with updating vendor portals records for asset management needs.
  • Support team with non-standard user requests and recommend effective solutions.
  • Creating a report on technology assets.
  • Update documentation to assist user clients and IT staff.
  • Support with service requests and ticket resolution.

  • Updating Asset Records
  • Create/Edit Excel Documents as needed for management

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is a must.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • The candidate should possess organizational, analytical and communication skills.
  • The candidate should be able to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • The candidate should have a keen eye for detail and be able to work independently while being an active team player.

REQUIRED EDUCATION

  • Matriculated in an undergraduate program in good standing with at least 2.5 GPA
  • Major(s) Preferred: Computer Science, Computer Information Science, or related field.
