Senior Manager, Platform Software Engineering

Leads one or more engineering teams responsible for the OKE Nodes and Applications platform, driving the evolution of Kubernetes worker node infrastructure, node lifecycle management, and core application platform capabilities that power Oracle Kubernetes Engine (OKE).

• Owns the delivery of scalable, secure, and highly available node and application services, with accountability for reliability, operational excellence, performance, and cost efficiency.
• Leads escalations involving complex distributed systems, Kubernetes node provisioning, upgrades, application lifecycle management, and customer-impacting incidents.
• Drives cross-organizational initiatives to improve observability, SLO attainment, upgrade safety, resilience, and operational automation across the OKE control plane and data plane.
• Partners closely with Compute, Networking, Storage, Security, and OCI platform teams to deliver cohesive cloud-native capabilities, while working with product management, support, and customer-facing organizations to define roadmaps, enable feature adoption, and execute migration strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead one or more teams within the OKE Nodes & Apps engineering organization, delivering secure, scalable, and highly available Kubernetes platform services.
• Drive technical execution, architecture, and operational excellence for node lifecycle, application platform capabilities, and service reliability.
• Partner across OCI engineering, Product Management, and Customer Support to deliver customer-focused solutions and resolve complex production issues.
• Establish engineering best practices for software quality, automation, observability, security, and continuous improvement.
• Build and develop a high-performing team through hiring, coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
• Foster cross-functional collaboration to solve complex technical challenges.
• Champion operational excellence, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Hiring Range in USD from

$120,000 to $306,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Paid time off

Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
