About The Organization
Product Engineering is a unified team responsible for the engineering of Disney Entertainment & ESPN digital and streaming products and platforms. This includes product engineering, media engineering, quality assurance, engineering behind personalization, commerce, lifecycle, and identity.
Job Summary
Describe what the person will do in the role - how he/she will impact the organization.
As Software Engineer you will be responsible for writing and reviewing code, contributing to technical decisions, and collaborating with engineers in your squad.
You will be empowered to contribute to technical and architectural decisions, and to influence the roadmap for your squad, working in partnership with your local leader, your squad, and your peers across Product, Project Management and Engineering.
You will contribute to and be part of an engaging, dynamic and inclusive engineering organization, grounded in scrum and agile practices, CI/CD, great collaboration, functional programming and motivated by a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software for Disney’s streaming products, which have global scale
- Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables
- Build quality products
- Manage AWS infrastructure supporting the DTC supply chain data aggregation and observability systems for Live and VOD
- Work on improving system scale and throughput for handling high concurrency
Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training
Minimum and Preferred. Inclusive of Licenses/Certs (include functional experience as well as behavioral attributes and/or leadership capabilities)
Required Skills
- Familiarity with at least one of the following languages: Java, or Python; and SQL.
Familiarity with at least one of the following
Dynamo DB, RDS
- Familiarity with at least one of the following cloud providers: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Compute (GCP), or Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with AWS technologies and cloud infrastructure
- Solid understanding of web accessibility fundamentals.
- Understanding of async programming models (events, callbacks, promises, async/await) and threading/concurrency
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3 years related work experience.
