Senior OSS Developer — Python (Remote)

What you’ll do

• Drive the development of our open-source tools like httpie/httpie (50K+ stars on GitHub)
• Implement features with uncompromising simplicity and top-notch user experience
• Write high-quality documentation, blog posts, and other technical content
• Respond to GitHub issues and pull requests
• Manage releases on various channels (PyPi, Homebrew, Linux, Windows, …)
• Contribute code and ideas to the overall platform
• Respond to questions on StackOverflow and Discord

You’ll be a great addition to the team if you have

• At least 5 years of software engineering and Python experience
• Demonstrated ability to lead the development of an open-source project
• Excellent English and technical writing skills
• Solid understanding of HTTP and modern APIs
• Passion for developer tools and sense for what makes them amazing
• Passion for simplicity and delightful user experience
• Good sense for when to choose a robust vs. minimal solution to move fast
• Ability to comfortably navigate the ladder of abstraction
• Eagerness to learn and share

Bonus points

• Experience with Rust or Go
• Experience building a technology product
• Early-stage startup experience
