As a Senior Software Engineer II, you are an expert developer who has demonstrated your ability to innovate and support the team and beyond. You support and guide the team's consistent delivery of iterative value to its clients. Recognized for your expertise, as a Senior Software Engineer II, you mentor your team, helping develop their overall capabilities.

About the role

  • Solve difficult problems for the team using software and provide examples of new technology or patterns
  • Release and validate software, developing new deployment patterns as necessary
  • Lead software support, incident resolution and blameless reviews
  • Develop code modules and patterns useful beyond the immediate team
  • Conduct exploratory or experimental work to develop prototypes
  • Guide code and design reviews for the team, helping establish standards
  • Provide software documentation and demonstration for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Mentor team members on any of the above
  • Assist leadership with improving flow by identifying and helping address technical debt and process issues for the team

About you

Minimum Qualifications

  • Expertise solving problems by developing software solutions that require innovation
  • Expertise with the programming languages, frameworks and platforms used by the team, such as C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Angular or AWS
  • Experience developing software modules or patterns used across multiple teams
  • Expertise designing integration tests, leading software releases, and providing ongoing support
  • Experience helping facilitate and create Agile software development practices and artifacts, such as user stories, backlog refinement, and sprint planning
  • Experience mentoring and developing others
  • Experience providing thought leadership to influence software development practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
  • 7 years of experience in a professional software engineering or similar role
  • Expertise developing for a cloud environment or advanced cloud provider certification
  • Experience designing or refining continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD)
  • Agile certification

On-Call Expectations

This role may include participation in an on-call rotation to support production systems and ensure service reliability. On-call responsibilities may include coverage during nights and weekends. If applicable, frequency and scheduling will be determined by team needs and communicated accordingly.
