The Senior Director, Product Management - Industrials is the senior product leader responsible for driving growth, portfolio strategy, product content expansion, pricing excellence, margin improvement, and competitive positioning across Sensata's Industrials segment.

This role leads product management for Sensors, Electrical Protection, Switching, and Power products while providing matrix leadership to Datacenter, Energy, and Defense growth initiatives. The position is accountable for building market-backed product roadmaps, translating customer and technology trends into differentiated product solutions, and delivering profitable growth across key Industrials markets including HVAC, appliances, datacenter infrastructure, energy, factory automation, defense, and critical infrastructure.

This leader partners across engineering, sales, operations, finance, and strategy to strengthen Sensata's competitive position and accelerate growth.

Responsibilities

Growth, Portfolio Strategy, and Product Content

  • Own the Industrials product portfolio strategy and translate market-back priorities into actionable roadmaps by product line, vertical, region, and strategic account.
  • Drive content-per-platform expansion across HVAC, appliances, commercial refrigeration, datacenter infrastructure, energy, defense, factory automation, and critical infrastructure.
  • Identify growth vectors through new products, adjacency expansion, customer co-development, partnerships, channel expansion, and acquisition opportunities.
  • Establish 3-year and 5-year roadmaps for Sensors, Electrical Protection, and Switching, with clear revenue, margin, investment, and customer adoption assumptions.

Margin, Pricing, and Lifecycle Management

  • Own portfolio margin management, including mix improvement, pricing discipline, product cost-down priorities, value-based pricing, and lifecycle rationalization.
  • Lead regular portfolio reviews to identify margin leakage, end-of-life candidates, product duplication, and reinvestment priorities.
  • Partner with finance and commercial teams to establish pricing governance, discount discipline, and margin improvement targets by product family and customer segment.
  • Drive product simplification and SKU rationalization while protecting customer continuity and strategic share positions.

Product Leadership and Cross-Functional Execution

  • Lead product management directors across Sensors, Electrical Protection, and Switching to improve roadmap quality, launch discipline, voice-of-customer rigor, and accountability for results.
  • Create a common product management operating cadence across product lines: market maps, opportunity funnels, roadmap reviews, phase-gate input, pricing reviews, win/loss analysis, and portfolio health dashboards.
  • Partner with engineering to prioritize NPI investments and translate product requirements into differentiated, manufacturable, and scalable solutions.
  • Support strategic customer engagements with credible product depth, market insight, and clear value propositions.

Competitive Intelligence and Market Analytics

  • Build and directly lead a robust competitive intelligence capability for Industrials, covering competitor portfolios, technology transitions, pricing behavior, manufacturing footprint, M&A moves, and customer share shifts.
  • Convert market intelligence into actionable product, pricing, and investment decisions.
  • Establish executive-ready quarterly competitive reviews and maintain market sizing, share tracking, and TAM/SAM models for priority segments.
  • Benchmark Sensata offerings against competitors and identify clear win themes, gaps, and roadmap actions.

Datacenter, Energy, and Defense Enablement

  • Provide dotted-line product leadership to Datacenter, Energy, and Defense initiatives, ensuring priority opportunities are supported with clear product requirements, technology roadmaps, and commercial business cases.
  • Build product strategies for datacenter-relevant areas such as CDU sensors, leak detection, flow and pressure sensing, electrical protection, switching, current monitoring, power conversion interfaces, and critical infrastructure protection.
  • Translate evolving customer architectures into content expansion opportunities and executable product roadmaps.
  • Ensure Industrials product teams align with fast-moving datacenter and energy customer requirements without fragmenting the core portfolio.

Experience / Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field required.
  • MBA or advanced technical degree preferred.

Experience

  • 15+ years of experience in product management, product strategy, or business leadership within industrials technology markets.
  • Proven success leading product portfolios with accountability for growth, profitability, roadmaps, and lifecycle management.
  • Experience driving growth through portfolio strategy, product content expansion, pricing, and margin improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead across both direct and matrixed organizational structures.
  • Global business experience working across regions, functions, and market segments.

Preferred Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of sensors, controls, electrical protection, switching products, relays, contactors, circuit breakers, or related technologies.
  • Experience in HVAC, appliance, datacenter infrastructure, energy, or related Industrials markets.
  • Experience utilizing competitive intelligence, market analytics, and portfolio performance metrics to drive business decisions.

Leadership Competencies

  • Strategic product and portfolio leadership.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.
  • Technical credibility and customer focus.
  • Ability to influence across functions and lead through complexity.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
