Job Description

The Infrastructure System Engineer reports to the Manager of Collaborative Platforms. The primary focus of this position is to administer the SharePoint Online and Office 365 environment ensuring users have access and training. The position will also assist in maintaining the customization portion of Online Microsoft Services.

Job Duties include

  • Support and maintain the productivity experience (messaging & collaboration technologies) solutions anchored on but not limited to the Microsoft Office 365 (O365), Active Directory, Copilot and Power Platforms
  • Contributes to all aspects of Office 365 and Exchange Online enterprise administration.
  • Supports and develops SharePoint Online services and sites in collaboration with Academic services.
  • Supports and develops the Microsoft Power Platforms environment including PowerBI, PowerApps and PowerAutomate
  • Partners with Product teams to identify platform capability/functional business requirements.
  • Partners with Infrastructure and Operations peers to develop short and long-term strategies and roadmaps.
  • Contributes to technical discussions with stakeholders that drive decisions and implementation plans.
  • Contributes to the engineering area with effective agile delivery processes and service metrics.
  • Participates in vendor relationship management across collaboration products.
  • Provides mentoring to less experienced Systems Engineers.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively under a deadline
  • Broad knowledge of other Microsoft systems infrastructure products, such as Azure, Teams pertaining to security practices.
  • Advanced scripting, development, and PowerShell skills and Azure Automation
  • Ability to develop solutions and processes for cost efficient service delivery
  • Ability to complete work independently and receive general guidance on new projects.
  • Ability to work in a complex, dynamic team environment with minimal supervision and possesses good organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels in the company and with various business contacts outside of the company in an articulate, professional manner.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and handle multiple assignments daily
  • Ability to work flexible hours, may be required to work occasional evenings and weekend hours to support production releases and resolve system issues.
  • Experience providing user guidance, documentation, and consultation
  • Working knowledge of authentication mechanisms.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field desired. Equivalent relevant experience performing the essential functions of this job may substitute for education degree requirements. Generally, equivalent relevant experience is defined as 1 year of experience for 1 year of education and is the discretion of the hiring manager.
  • 2 years of mid-level (Tier 2 or 3) administration and engineering experience in an enterprise IT environment, having performed operational, development and break/fix activity.
  • Experience as an M/O365 Administrator and/or SharePoint Online Administrator/Developer.
  • Experience with the design and implementation of IT projects, including documentation, communication, and coordination of all components.
  • Experience with coordinating customer support (Tier 1 or 2) personnel with O365 related incidents and tasks.
  • Experience in coordination and escalation of Microsoft support and ability to coordinate with first- and third-party software vendors as needed for resolution of business-impacting problems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Certified Professional.
  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange Online and Exchange 2019.
  • Experience with SharePoint Online, with expertise supporting OneDrive for Business
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams for Business.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platforms, including Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Virtual Assistant.
  • Experience with web-based Office Online applications
  • Experience with Azure AD Connect.
