Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

AI & Automation Integration

Design and implement data pipelines that support machine learning, generative AI, and real-time analytics use cases.

Modern Data Architecture

Develop scalable, cloud-based data solutions using Data Mesh, Lakehouse, and streaming patterns where appropriate.

Data Governance & Ethics

Apply responsible AI principles and enforce data privacy, security, and regulatory compliance standards.

Performance Optimization

Improve data platform performance through query tuning, distributed processing practices, and cloud cost optimization.

Legacy Modernization

Support modernization of legacy systems using containerization, serverless services, and workflow automation.

Collaboration & Technical Leadership

Work with business and engineering partners to deliver data solutions aligned to strategic goals; mentor engineers and contribute to technical direction.

Documentation & Standards

Create and maintain architecture documentation, runbooks, and implementation standards.

Security & Resilience

Implement secure-by-design patterns, disaster recovery capabilities, and reliability improvements for critical data services.

Continuous Improvement

Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies (including AI-enabled tooling) that provide measurable value.

Technology Evaluation

Review new platform features, upgrades, and tooling; provide recommendations for adoption.

Business Continuity

Contribute to business continuity and disaster recovery requirements, methods, and procedures for data systems and databases.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in data engineering, software engineering, or data platform development.
• hands-on experience with Snowflake.
• experience in AWS (or similar cloud platforms), including services such as S3, IAM, Athena, SNS, SQS, and EMR.
• SQL Server experience, including tools such as SSIS and SSRS.
• Proven ability to provide technical guidance and collaborate effectively within cross-functional engineering teams.
• Experience designing and supporting scalable distributed data systems using open-source and cloud-native technologies.
• Working experience with Agile delivery models such as Scrum or Kanban.
• Strong object-oriented design and software engineering fundamentals, including coding standards, testing practices, and maintainable architecture.
• Strong understanding of data modeling concepts and trade-offs across different data structures and use cases.
• Demonstrated ability to build partnerships across diverse teams and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Track record of contributing to healthy team culture, accountability, and delivery outcomes.
• Financial industry data experience is preferred but not required.
