As a Senior Level Designer at Ubisoft Montreal, you will take ownership of mission creation from prototype to final polish. You will work closely with narrative, artificial intelligence, realization, animation, audio, and art teams to turn creative intentions into fluid, intuitive, and memorable gameplay experiences. In this role, you will contribute to missions that rely heavily on interconnected systems, visual scripting, and narrative integration to support strong player agency and layered gameplay outcomes.
What you’ll do
- Design complete missions from prototype to final implementation
- Create gameplay experiences that are fluid, intuitive, and player-focused
- Design missions that support player agency, narrative interconnections, and multiple gameplay outcomes
- Define mission pacing, structure, objectives, and progression
- Build clean, organized, and maintainable visual scripting systems that connect gameplay, narrative, animation, audio, and artificial intelligence elements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure gameplay quality and consistency
- Translate narrative intentions into engaging playable experiences
- Communicate priorities, needs, and production follow-ups clearly across teams
- Support and mentor other members of the level design team
- Contribute to improving team workflows and quality standards
What you bring to the team
- Strong experience in level design with ownership of mission design and implementation from layout through interconnected gameplay scripting and final polish
- Excellent understanding of pacing, flow, player guidance, and readability
- Strong understanding of technical implementation, visual scripting, and interconnected gameplay systems
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in a complex production environment
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to communicate clearly with multidisciplinary teams in an international production environment
