SAS Technical Architect

Client is seeking two Technical Solution Architects to provide Medicaid data warehouse ETL services, which delivers monthly data extracts to vendors.

Client is seeking a short term (12 month) Solution Architect to provide data warehouse ETL services. The candidate will assume a key technical role and work closely with staff and vendors to deliver SAS Business Intelligence programming that will produce analytical reporting from the NC Analytics data warehouse. The candidate will report to a BIO Business Intelligence Manager. The Candidate is expected to work without assistance; can provide leadership to others; able to manage highly complex work efforts; may have advanced education; may have extensive industry experience.

Description (including, but not limited to)

• Technical expertise centered around SAS and data warehouses.
• Specialization in SAS ETL process design and implementation of solutions.
• Successful development and maintenance of formal strategies, sourcing guidance, technical standards, blueprints, reference architectures, architecture patterns and technology roadmaps for a given architecture domain.
• Leverage experience working with SAS Enterprise Guide and DI Studio tools to develop queries to execute in a Medicaid Data warehouse.
• Analyzing and estimating feasibility and compatibility of solutions with a Level 3 Normalized Data Warehouse including hardware, network and other programs. Guide decision makers toward the final solution architecture which is most compliant with their policies and programs.
• Engaging agency subject matter experts, business liaisons, and vendor representatives as to ensure proper alignment between business and data solutions.

Skills

Expert knowledge of SAS tools, SAS MACROS, Enterprise Guide, Design Studio.

Expert SAS and SQL experience including table joins to extract data in a normalized data warehouse.

Expert ability to effectively diagnose, isolate, and resolve complex problems pertaining to data and its infrastructure.

Expert ability to manage client data requests and/or issues; experienced with discerning requirements for analysis, hands-on design, and development.

Desirable to have experience working with Medicaid claims data and information.

Desirable to have experience working with visual analytic tools and methodologies.
