Senior GIS Analyst/Programmer

Description

11-15 years of experience. Analyzes, designs, develops, implements and supports enterprise complex GIS projects.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes, designs, develops, implements, manages, and supports enterprise complex projects.
• Interfaces with other offices, consult with and inform user departments on system requirements, resolve problems and operating difficulties for the current and future enhancements to District’s system.
• Participates in problem resolution related to system design and implementation review.
• Recommends approval of functional and technical design documents and implementation of systems, program enhancements and updates of applications.
• Analyzes and evaluates system changes to determine feasibility, alternative solutions and back-up procedures.
• Works on the development of new systems, upgrades and enhancements to existing systems and ensure systems are in compliance with approved standards.
• Develops complex programs and reports in database query language
• Ability to manage GIS and related IT tasks and projects

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent experience

Skills Required

• 11-15 yrs managing complex geodatabases with ESRI ArcGIS desktop software
• 11-15 yrs manipulating geospatial data (data conversion, spatial analysis, and geocoding)
• Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience
• 3 - 5 years working with ArcGIS online
• 3 - 5 years working with ESRI Collector or Survey 123 Applications
• 5 - 10 years experience with informal training of users in the use of GIS applications for field data entry
• Willingness to report to various work sites to test and deploy GIS applications and to train and mentor users in the use of those apps.
