Position Summary...

What you'll do...

The Walmart AI Product & Design MBA Product Leadership Rotational Program is a highly selective opportunity for MBA talent to help shape the next generation of AI-powered products and experiences at Walmart. This role is intended for students currently enrolled in an MBA program with a graduation date of December 2026 or Spring 2027.

At Walmart, Product Managers operate at the intersection of customer and member needs, business strategy, technology, design, data, and AI. With hundreds of millions of customers and members around the world and an unmatched combination of digital and physical experiences, Walmart offers Product Managers an opportunity to build products at extraordinary scale.

This rotational program is designed to accelerate the development of future Product leaders by giving you meaningful ownership across different areas of AI Product & Design. Through three six-month rotations over 18 months, you'll tackle complex customer, member, associate, and business problems; work alongside Product, Design, Engineering, Data Science, and business leaders; and build the capabilities needed to lead products from problem identification and discovery through strategy, development, launch, adoption, and iteration.

We recognize that great Product Managers come from a variety of backgrounds. The program combines hands-on product ownership with intentional coaching, executive exposure, and structured development to help you build your Product craft while learning how Walmart operates at global scale.

What you can expect from the rotational program

  • Own meaningful product problems. Take responsibility for real customer, member, associate, or business problems and translate them into clear product opportunities and measurable outcomes.
  • Rotate across AI Product & Design. Build breadth through experiences across different product domains, customer journeys, AI capabilities, and business areas.
  • Build with AI at the center. Develop experience identifying where AI can meaningfully improve experiences, accelerate decision-making, simplify work, and unlock new business opportunities.
  • Lead across the product lifecycle. Participate in discovery, product strategy, roadmap development, prioritization, experimentation, delivery, launch, adoption, and continuous improvement.
  • Work in cross-functional product teams. Partner closely with Engineering, Design, Data Science, Analytics, Operations, and business teams to turn ideas into products customers and associates use.
  • Learn at Walmart scale. Develop an understanding of how technology and product decisions translate into impact across one of the world's largest businesses.
  • Gain exposure to senior leaders. Learn directly from Product, Design, Technology, AI, and business executives through mentorship, leadership sessions, product reviews, and rotational presentations.
  • Grow with a cohort. Build relationships with fellow MBA Product leaders through shared development experiences, networking, mentorship, and exposure across Walmart.

The Product competencies you'll build

Our Product Managers are expected to combine customer obsession, product craft, business judgment, technical fluency, and execution. Throughout the program, you'll develop and demonstrate capabilities across:

Customer & Problem Discovery — Deeply understand customers, members, associates, and business users; uncover unmet needs; and clearly define the problems worth solving.

Product Vision & Strategy — Connect customer needs, business priorities, technology capabilities, and market trends to create a compelling product vision and strategy.

Product Judgment & Prioritization — Make thoughtful tradeoffs and prioritize the work that creates the greatest customer and business impact.

Data & Insights — Use quantitative and qualitative data to develop hypotheses, make decisions, define success measures, and continuously improve products.

AI & Technical Fluency — Understand the possibilities and limitations of AI and emerging technologies and effectively partner with technical teams to translate those capabilities into useful products.

Product Execution — Translate strategy into clear requirements and roadmaps and work across Product, Design, Engineering, and Data Science to move from concept to scaled execution with speed and quality.

Experimentation & Learning — Test assumptions, learn quickly from customers and data, and use those insights to iterate and improve the product.

Influence & Cross-Functional Leadership — Create clarity across complex, matrixed teams, influence without authority, and bring stakeholders together around a shared product outcome.

Business Acumen — Understand how the product creates value for the customer and Walmart and connect product decisions to measurable business outcomes.

Responsible Product Leadership — Build with trust, responsibility, security, and customer impact in mind—particularly as AI changes how people interact with technology.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of professional or military experience
  • Previous experience in Product Management, Technology, AI, Strategy, Consulting, Entrepreneurship, Design, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Experience developing or launching digital, technology, or AI-enabled products.
  • Experience working with Product, Engineering, Design, Data Science, or other cross-functional teams.
  • Experience leading teams, initiatives, or complex projects in a matrixed environment.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and hands-on interest in AI, emerging technologies, and how they are changing customer experiences and businesses.

You'll fit in great if you...

  • Start with the problem, not the solution. You're relentlessly curious about customers and ask "why?" before jumping to what should be built.
  • Think like an owner. You take accountability for outcomes—not simply completing a roadmap or delivering features.
  • Can zoom out and zoom in. You're equally comfortable shaping a product strategy and digging into the details required to bring it to life.
  • Use data without losing judgment. You use data to sharpen decisions while recognizing when ambiguity requires informed judgment and action.
  • Are energized by AI. You're actively experimenting with AI and curious about how it can fundamentally reshape products, experiences, and how work gets done.
