Why this is different
Other checkers read the text of one posting and judge it on its wording — whether the responsibilities sound vague, whether a salary is missing. That is a guess about a document.
We watched it. We crawl employers’ own applicant tracking systems every day, so we can tell you how long a role has been open, that this employer has posted it six times in a year, and that we checked their board this morning. Every part of that is something you can verify yourself.

- Links from the applicant tracking systems we crawl — Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, Ashby, SmartRecruiters and others. If we have not seen the posting we say so rather than guessing.
- Why did it say you have not seen my posting?
- We crawl employers' own applicant tracking systems rather than aggregators, so a link from a site that reposts other people's listings often will not match. Try finding the same role on the company's own careers page.
- Does a ghost-risk result mean the company is lying?
- No. We report measured facts about a posting's history — how long it has been open, how often it has been reposted. A role can sit open for months because of a hiring freeze or a slow approval, with nobody intending to mislead anyone. What it does mean is that applying may not get you a reply.
- Is it free?
- Yes, and no account is needed. A paid plan filters the whole board by hiring signal, but checking a single posting is free.
