The House of Commons’ Digital Services and Real Property (DSRP) is currently seeking to staff the Digital Product Strategist position.

This position requires on-site presence four (4) days per week.

As a Digital Product Strategist, you will translate enterprise strategies into product-level direction and roadmaps aligned with the DSRP Strategic Plan and House of Commons technology standards and priorities. You will work with internal teams, business partners, and vendors to identify interdependencies and support strategic technology and solution decisions.

In this role, you will provide strategic and technical leadership for complex enterprise networking, multimedia, physical security, smart campus, IoT, and operational technology (OT) environments. You will develop enterprise architecture strategies, standards, reference architectures, and technology roadmaps while ensuring solutions are secure, resilient, scalable, highly available, and operationally sustainable. Working collaboratively across cybersecurity, infrastructure, facilities, multimedia, and operational teams, you will lead architecture reviews, technology assessments, proof of concepts, modernization initiatives, and strategic planning, while advising senior leadership on technology strategy, risks, investment priorities, and emerging technologies.

Education

  • Successful completion of a college or university degree in Information Technology, System Engineering, Innovation Management, or another related field; or an acceptable combination of formal education, training, and/or experience in the relevant fields.

Experiences

  • Significant experience in enterprise architecture, network architecture, technology strategy, or a related senior technical leadership role;
  • Extensive experience designing and implementing complex enterprise networking environments, including campus, data center, WAN, Internet, cloud, or hybrid networks;
  • Strong experience with routing, switching, multicast, QoS, redundancy, high availability, network segmentation, and performance engineering;
  • Experience designing, implementing, or supporting IP-based media, broadcast, AV-over-IP, or professional multimedia networks;
  • Experience integrating multimedia, physical security, IoT, OT, or building automation systems with enterprise IT networks;
  • Experience applying cybersecurity and Zero Trust principles, including identity-based access, segmentation, and secure connectivity;
  • Experience with network automation, orchestration, configuration management, telemetry, monitoring, and observability;
  • Experience developing architecture standards, reference architectures, governance processes, technology roadmaps, and lifecycle strategies.

Assets

  • Relevant industry certifications in networking, enterprise architecture, or related disciplines;
  • Experience with IP media and professional multimedia technologies and standards such as SMPTE ST 2110/ST 2022, IEEE 1588 PTP, Dante, AES67, NDI, or NMOS;
  • Experience with BACnet/IP, MQTT, or other IoT and building automation technologies;
  • Experience with Software-Defined Networking (SDN), Infrastructure as Code, network orchestration, or advanced network automation;
  • Experience developing or implementing smart campus, integrated physical security, IoT, or OT architectures.
