Site Reliability Engineer

Summary

This position involves working in a Site Reliability Engineer role, focusing on maintaining and improving system reliability, performance, and security. The role requires collaboration across development, operations, and product teams to prioritize needs and establish effective relationships.

Job Responsibilities

• Support and troubleshoot Mainframe and Microfocus-based applications.
• Work with algorithms, data structures, scripting, pipeline management, and software design.
• Monitor and manage infrastructure using tools such as Splunk and Dynatrace.
• Perform stack trace analysis, including TCP dumps, heap dumps, CPU/memory analysis, and thread dumps.
• Ensure high availability and business continuity planning.
• Manage configuration and implement caching concepts.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, EZYTRIEVE, and REXX coding.
• Experience in SRE roles or related fields.
• Strong SQL skills and knowledge of Oracle, DB2, and Postgres databases.
• Working knowledge of Schedulers like OPC and TWS, and version control tools like Endeavor and BitBucket.
• Basic knowledge of IBM MQ, Java, J2EE, WebServices (SOAP/REST), Spring/Spring Boot.
• Understanding of client-server relationships, network concepts, load balancers, and application firewalls.
• Experience in production support environments and ITIL processes.

Education & Qualifications

• Advanced competency in COBOL, JCL, and DB2.
• Hands-on experience with Linux platforms is a plus.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies and security implementations.
