Internship Summary

We’re looking for a UX Design Intern to join the Platform Experiences (PEX) team at Align Technology. This internship offers hands-on experience in designing intuitive, elegant, and scalable digital solutions that connect the Invisalign®, iTero®, and exocad® ecosystems.

You’ll work alongside experienced designers, product managers, and engineers to help shape the future of digital orthodontics and restorative dentistry. This role is ideal for students who are passionate about human-centered design, eager to learn in a fast-paced environment, and interested in how design can make a meaningful impact in healthcare technology.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

What We're Looking For

Typically

Education

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in UX/UI Design, Human–Computer Interaction, Industrial Design, or a related field.

Experience

Academic or project experience demonstrating understanding of user-centered design principles. Prior internship design experience is a plus.

Skills

o Basic proficiency in Figma or other design tools.

o Strong visual design sense and attention to detail.

o Curiosity to learn about design systems, accessibility, and research methods.

Language

Professional English proficiency, with the ability to participate in meetings, document design decisions clearly, and present work in design reviews.

Work Model

Ability to work onsite in the Costa Rica office and collaborate across time zones.

Complementary Skills

• Familiarity with 3D, motion, or prototyping tools.
