Job Description

This job is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the job include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements, and solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Job expectations include a strong knowledge of development and testing practices common to the industry and design and architectural patterns.

Position Summary

Enterprise Automation Platforms team currently manages 4 Enterprise applications and are product engineers of vendor applications that interface with 4-5K users on how best to utilize the tools, and work directly with the vendor to maintain and improve their use and with SMEs to help automate tasks.

This Software Engineer will support the core components of Ansible Automation Platform and assist with conversion of scripts from TSSA/BladeLogic (.nsh, .sh, and other types) to Ansible playbooks.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops and is accountable for feature delivery
• Applies enterprise standards for solution design, coding and quality
• Ensures solution meets product acceptance criteria with minimal technical debt
• Guides the team on work breakdown and execution
• Works with the Product Owner to ensure that product backlog/requirements are healthy, with clear acceptance criteria
• Plays a team lead role (as an individual contributor) and mentors the team
• Guides team members with skills and practices (planning and estimation, peer reviews, and other engineering practices)
• Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements
• Enhance/develop controls for automation platforms with focus on shared content (catalog) across Enterprise tools
• Designs, develops, and modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained

Required Qualifications

• Ability to work both independently and within a high functioning team environment
• Ansible Automation Platform
• Expert level Unix/Linux admin and scripting (exp. 10+ years) – yaml, xml, python, perl, shell
• Strong written and verbal communication skills - able to present to audiences including senior management
• Strong organizational skills, ability to work with multiple groups to gather business requirements for product evidence and license compliance.
• Strong analytical, multitasking and prioritization skills
• Proficiency in working in a fast-paced, complex, dynamic, business environment
• Proven ability to build relationships and influence individuals in all regions of the organization
• Ability to understand complex application infrastructure and model for license compliance reporting
• Ability to be a strong team player with commitment to overall organization goals

Desired Qualifications

• NSH scripting and BLCLI (minimum 3 years)
• Postgres or similar database experience
• Experience with BMC TSO, Bladelogic, SQL, Database Admin, Systems Administration
• Experience with Infrastructure Asset Analysis
• Experience with Windows admin and scripting
• Experience with Service Now, Remedy, and Puppet
