BUSINESS ANALYST

Responsibilities

• The position is expected to function with considerable independence while operating within a team and project structure. Lead and provide expert leadership on highly visible, sensitive and multi faceted projects. Work in agreement with the strategic direction of projects.
• Provide detailed knowledge of business processes and best practices; as well as, perform business analysis, process design, requirements gathering and ability to drive testing.
• Provide solid documentation of all key deliverables and due dates. Responsible for organizing assigned work, managing the work to completion, and managing relationships required to accomplish the work. Manage the day-to-day details of the project including the plan, schedule, resources, scope, budget and risks.
• Participate in planning sessions with business to implement process improvement within an assigned area. Liaise between business units and IT units to provide support, resolve problems, identify key deliverables and escalate to management as appropriate. Track progress and monitor all creative, business and technical development activities to ascertain technique for optimization.
• Analyze and report on success of implemented solutions as it relates to their outcomes. Active problem solving in engagement of project managers in solution decision making are required.
• Monitors tasks from initiation through delivery and monitors for continuous improvement. Completes cost/benefit analysis where required.
• Establishes team membership and negotiates time commitments and resource allocation. Provides staff leadership to multi disciplinary teams, as well as manages work of outside consultants. Motivates team members and facilitates team meetings.
• Provides guidance to team on performance and productivity issues. Actively participates or may lead in analyzing data and developing recommendations and action plans.
• Accountable for the development of project documentation for senior executives and other key clients to facilitate sharing of project outcomes and best practices. Makes formal presentations to various senior level audiences.
• Adheres to applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, accreditation and licenser requirements (if applicable), and Altegra Health policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Education – Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or Information Technology.
• Experience –– Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project required. Must have good knowledge of SQL and familiarity with testing software and designing business systems. Configuration of knowledge management helpful.
• Experience in health care business or related field, plus 5-7 years progressive experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in health care..
• The ideal candidate must have a strong analytical background with the ability to review, analyze and evaluate business systems and user needs into requirements.
• Database knowledge and ability to analyze data to help formulate system or reporting requirements or test new functionality required.
• Experience leading or mentoring junior business analysts preferred
• Ability to communicate at all levels within the organization, build consensus and influence others is essential.
• Candidates must have strong analytical and operations skills. Business Analyst Professional certification (i.e., CBAP), or similar industry experience are a plus
