Job Summary

We are looking for a PostgreSQL DBA to help support a growing PostgreSQL environment in Azure. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, experience with PostgreSQL administration and performance, and be comfortable participating in on-call responsibilities while working closely with team members and Software Engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct database and table design reviews in GitHub.
• Monitor database performance.
• Perform database performance tuning and optimization.
• Support database backup and recovery activities.
• Support database replication.
• Manage database security and users.
• Participate in on-call and emergency support.

Required Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• 5-10 years of hands-on PostgreSQL experience.
• Bachelor's degree or higher, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience with code reviews.
• Strong scripting skills.
• Experience with performance tuning and optimization.
• Experience with disaster recovery.
• Experience with database replication.
• Experience with user management.
• Experience with PostgreSQL in a cloud environment, preferably Azure.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.
