Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Information Systems Applications Specialist III to analyze, design, develop, implement, and maintain business applications that support organizational requirements. The selected candidate will work closely with business users, management, and technical teams to understand business needs, gather requirements, and develop effective application solutions.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in application development, systems analysis, programming, software testing, and application maintenance. This role involves translating business requirements into functional specifications and technical designs, developing and enhancing applications, conducting various testing activities, and providing ongoing technical support.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements and work with end users and management to identify application and system needs.
• Gather, review, and translate business requirements into detailed functional requirements, technical designs, and specifications.
• Design, develop, modify, and maintain software applications based on organizational requirements.
• Develop program logic, screen layouts, reports, system workflows, and testing criteria.
• Write, test, debug, document, and implement application programs and software solutions.
• Conduct and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), performance testing, stress testing, regression testing, and integration testing.
• Evaluate existing applications, identify system issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement appropriate solutions.
• Participate in application design, development, integration, deployment, and implementation activities.
• Prepare technical documentation, development requests, system specifications, and application-related reports.
• Collaborate with business users and technical teams to evaluate prototypes, development tools, and system enhancement approaches.
• Provide technical assistance, application support, training, and guidance to users and junior technical staff.
• Perform ongoing application maintenance, system reviews, enhancements, and performance improvements.
• Follow software development standards, security practices, organizational policies, and applicable regulations.

Required Skills

• Strong experience in Application Development and Systems Analysis.
• Knowledge of programming languages and software development methodologies.
• Experience translating business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
• Hands-on experience in software development, debugging, testing, and implementation.
• Knowledge of application design, system integration, and application maintenance.
• Experience with UAT, regression, integration, performance, and stress testing.
• Ability to analyze business processes and develop appropriate technical solutions.
• Knowledge of coding standards, application security, and software development practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.

Education and Experience

• Completion of 12 semester hours of Computer Science or Management Information Systems coursework, along with 3 additional years of experience in application development and analysis; OR
• Completion of at least 156 hours of vocational or technical education resulting in an application development certification, along with 3 additional years of relevant experience; OR
• An equivalent combination of education and experience, as permitted by the employer's requirements.
