Python Backend Developer

Help develop and improve Bluebob, our flight operations AI assistant, and its supporting applications. Work directly with the project owner on backend features, performance, background jobs, monitoring, and integrations.

Base requirements

• Solid Python backend development experience.
• Experience building REST APIs with FastAPI or a similar framework.
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Understanding of async/await and handling concurrent requests.
• Comfortable debugging existing applications and writing maintainable code.
• Familiarity with Git, code reviews, and automated testing.
• Some cloud deployment experience; Azure preferred.
• Able to take a defined task, clarify requirements, and carry it through.

Nice to have

• SQLAlchemy, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.
• Azure services, Docker, or Kubernetes.
• Background workers, message queues, or scheduled jobs.
• Performance profiling, logging, dashboards, and alerts.
• LLM APIs, prompt management, or AI agent development.
• Microsoft Teams or other third-party integrations.

Perfect candidate

• Meets the base requirements and has delivered a production Python application on Azure, worked with queues or background processing, and integrated LLM features.
• Can suggest practical improvements and explain their tradeoffs.
