Our client, a global investment firm, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their team in Miami, FL!

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java and SQL.
• Build robust, user-friendly tools that enhance project management, workflow tracking, and resource planning across teams.
• Collaborate with stakeholders including investment professionals, operations, and technology teams to gather requirements and implement scalable solutions.
• Ensure application performance, data accuracy, and reliability through code reviews, testing, and performance tuning.
• Maintain and improve existing software systems, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to long-term technical planning.
• Document technical designs, workflows, and support procedures for cross-functional use.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and SQL (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server).
• Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC), including version control, testing, and CI/CD practices.
• Proven ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in an investment firm or the financial services industry.
• Background in designing or implementing project management, workflow, or task tracking applications.
• Familiarity with front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular) and RESTful API development is a plus.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies.
