Sr Network Engineer -Atlanta

Our Client is a Global Financial Services firm located in Atlanta.

This is a senior technologist role with the successful candidate possessing excellent technical depth, to be self-driven, ability to lead more junior engineers (a must) as he/ she will be a technical team lead, excellent written and verbal communications a big must.

The position requires coordination with other teams in gathering certification requirements, translating those requirements into a detailed test plan, executing them in coordination with other team members in a live lab environment.

The work involves close coordination across BU technologists in translating their network needs from business requirements, providing escalation support to network operations in validating bugs/vulnerabilities/work arounds in the lab, providing solutions, documenting the exposure/impact and presenting to the ENS forum for approval and assisting Operations in piloting those solutions in production environment.

The candidate is responsible of maintaining a working relationship with vendors Cisco, Arista, Broadcom, Juniper and the likes to stay current with the technological trends, conduct Proof of Concept on new design, hardware/ software, provide technology roadmaps and socialize with the business stakeholders, Compute/ End User/ Tech Risk/ Security verticals and greater ENS team on ongoing network enhancements, risk mitigations, improvements.

Candidate must have strong routing and switching knowledge and have relevant experience on various vendor products. Advance knowledge of network operating systems including Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, IOS-XR, NXOS; Arista EOS and Juniper JunOS. He/ she would be abreast of compute trends in the networking space with particular interest in the Data Center, MAN/ WAN and Low Latency spaces

Must possess deep understanding of various network protocols and technologies such as OSPF, BGP, MP-BGP, VRFs, Multicast, MPLS, VxLAN, BGP/EVPN, LDP, RSVP and Segment routing. The work requires writing and presenting technical documents so the candidate must have strong writing and communication skills as noted above.

Skills Required

• Education: BS in Engineering, Computer Science
• Experience: 8 10 years,CCIE or CCIE level expertise
• Knowledge of traffic generation tools like IXIA or Spirent is a big plus
• IP Routing Platforms Cisco ASR1K, ASR9K, ISR4K
• Switching Platforms Cisco Nexus 3K/7K/9K, Cisco Catalyst 9300/9400/9500, Arista DCS-7060/7280/7500/7800 platforms.
• Low Latency Switching Platforms Cisco N3548/N3550, Arista 7150/7130.
• Public Cloud Technologies: Candidate should possess knowledge of AWS and Azure architectural principles and key networking services such as AWS Global infrastructure, VPC, S3, EC2, Route 53, Transit Gateway,
• Direct Connect, MS Azure VNet, VNet-Peering, Private Link, vWAN, Express Route, Firewall, Load Balancer.
• Private Cloud Technologies: Knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, Calico CNI is a plus
• Scripting/automation: Knowledge of python, Ansible and any other related scripting and automation tools would be a plus.
