Responsibilities

• Handling incidents and pagers for business-critical applications

Collaboration

They collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure applications are optimized for the Kubernetes environment. Collaborate effectively with L3/L4 Engineering Teams for root cause analysis on major incidents.

Cluster and Patch Management

This involves setting up Kubernetes clusters, configuring them according to best practices, and keeping them up to date with the latest stable releases.

Deployment and Maintenance

Support application deployments on the clusters, ensuring they run smoothly. This includes monitoring resource utilization, scaling applications up or down based on needs, and troubleshooting any issues that arise.

Security and Compliance

Understanding of cluster and application security, multi-tenancy, scheduler features, and pod security.

Automation

A key aspect of this role is automating deployment and management tasks using tools like Terraform or Ansible. This streamlines processes and reduces manual errors.

Resource Quotas

Ability to enforce resource quotas on namespaces.
