Job Title: Data Solution Architect

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Data Solution Architect with a strong blend of architecture, hands-on data engineering, and technical leadership skills. The ideal candidate will design scalable enterprise data solutions, establish best-in-class engineering practices, and provide technical mentorship to Data Engineers and Senior Data Engineers. Experience in Azure, Databricks, and large-scale data platform delivery is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end data architectures, data models, and data integration frameworks.
• Architect and lead development of scalable ETL/ELT solutions and enterprise data platforms.
• Define data ingestion, transformation, storage, governance, and consumption patterns.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineering teams.
• Review solution designs, code, and engineering deliverables to ensure quality and scalability.
• Drive DevOps-based delivery practices including CI/CD, testing, automation, and deployment strategies.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Establish standards for data quality, metadata management, observability, and platform reliability.
• Support modernization, cloud migration, and AI-ready data architectures.

Required Skills & Experience

Data Architecture & Engineering

• 12+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, or Solution Architecture.
• Strong expertise in data modeling, data flow design, and enterprise data architecture.
• Proven experience designing and implementing large-scale ETL/ELT frameworks.
• Hands-on experience building and optimizing enterprise data pipelines.
• Strong experience working across the complete data solution lifecycle, from requirements through production deployment.

Cloud & Platform Expertise

• Expert-level experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Azure Databricks.
• Experience with at least one additional cloud platform (AWS or GCP) (preferred)
• Proficiency with Azure Data Lake, Data Factory, Synapse, and related Azure data services.

Technical Skills

• Advanced SQL, Python, PySpark, and Spark optimization.
• Experience with Data Lakehouse architectures and big data technologies.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, Git, Infrastructure as Code, and Azure DevOps.
• Experience with performance optimization, monitoring, data quality, and governance frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the Oil & Gas industry (highly preferred).
• Exposure to AI/ML platforms, MLOps, and/or GenAI solutions.
• Experience leading or mentoring data engineering teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience delivering enterprise-scale analytics and data products.

Note

This is not a pure architecture role. The selected candidate must be comfortable getting hands-on with data engineering challenges, reviewing code/designs, and providing day-to-day technical guidance to the engineering team.
