The Senior Manager is responsible for the roadmap, architecture, delivery and operation of data products across our current landscape and build out a data mesh type of architecture focused on business domains.

People and Operating Model

  • Lead a high-accountability engineering team. Set clear ownership, coach technical and product thinking, build succession, and create an inclusive environment where quality and constructive challenge are expected.
  • Enable Analytics and AI. Partner on requirements, production-ready datasets, semantic models, and data readiness; keep engineering, analytical interpretation, and AI decision authority clearly separated.
  • Support governed self-service. Provide reusable patterns, documentation, coaching, and a controlled path for Agency colleagues to build approved reports and simple workflows.

Measures of Success

Priority data products meet agreed reliability, freshness, and quality expectations; access reviews and control tests pass; delivery cycle time and repeated preparation decline; reusable patterns are adopted; incidents and recurring defects trend down; Agency teams can reach trusted data faster; and platform value is demonstrated against transparent run and change costs.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Data-platform leadership. Progressive experience leading engineers and delivering production data platforms, pipelines, and shared data products in a complex organization.
  • Relevant technical depth. Strong command of Python and SQL, data modeling, orchestration, cloud data architecture, and engineering practices, with meaningful Snowflake and Microsoft Fabric experience or closely comparable platforms.
  • Operational discipline. Demonstrated experience with testing, version control, controlled deployment, data quality, observability, lineage, access management, and production support.
