About Our Client
We are partnering with a rapidly expanding infrastructure provider dedicated to delivering scalable, high-performance computing environments. Our client builds and manages the heavy-duty tech ecosystems that power complex workloads for enterprise businesses globally. They are currently seeking elite engineering talent to help architect, deploy, and maintain advanced computing clusters that meet rigorous performance and security standards.
The Role
On behalf of our client, we are looking for an experienced HPC Systems Engineer to take ownership of their high-performance infrastructure. You will be instrumental in designing, testing, and optimizing large-scale computing environments that handle data-intensive operations. In this role, you will work closely with hardware partners and internal deployment teams to ensure their systems deliver maximum throughput with minimal latency.
Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Design & Deployment: Architect and deploy large-scale, distributed computing clusters tailored for intense workloads (such as machine learning, data modeling, or complex rendering).
- Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and fine-tune system performance. Identify bottlenecks in compute, storage, or network layers and implement solutions to maximize efficiency.
- Automation & Management: Develop robust automation scripts for provisioning, configuration management, and system updates to ensure seamless scalability across the client's infrastructure.
- Hardware Integration: Collaborate with top-tier hardware vendors to integrate the latest processing units (GPUs/CPUs) and high-speed networking solutions into data center environments.
- Troubleshooting: Act as the ultimate escalation point for complex technical issues relating to cluster performance, network fabric, and distributed storage systems.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Systems Engineer or Infrastructure Architect specifically focused on High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments.
- Deep expertise in Linux/UNIX system administration at scale.
- Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, or similar) and experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- In-depth knowledge of high-speed networking concepts (InfiniBand, RDMA, advanced Ethernet) and parallel/distributed file systems (Lustre, GPFS, Ceph).
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) in a high-performance context.
- A solid understanding of data center security protocols and best practices.
