Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Mapping Analyst to support data inventory, metadata documentation, and data mapping activities across a large portfolio of business applications. This role is ideal for someone with 2-5 years of experience who enjoys working with data, Excel, documentation, and stakeholder communication.

The analyst will partner with application owners and business teams to collect metadata, maintain data maps, and support the organization's data governance and privacy initiatives. This is a highly collaborative, process-driven role with consistent day-to-day responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather and document metadata from application owners and business stakeholders.
• Maintain data maps, data dictionaries, application inventories, and related documentation.
• Identify and document data elements, system integrations, and data ownership information.
• Review and organize data records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Load and maintain information within data management platforms and repositories.
• Work with stakeholders to collect missing information and validate documentation.
• Utilize Excel, reporting tools, and AI-assisted tools to support data analysis and documentation efforts.
• Follow established processes and contribute to ongoing improvements and automation initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 2-5 years of experience in data analysis, business analysis, data mapping, data stewardship, or related roles.
• Understanding of data concepts such as metadata, data mapping, data dictionaries, and system integrations.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively with business and technical stakeholders.
• Experience working with spreadsheets and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong documentation and follow-up skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to data governance, privacy, compliance, or regulatory initiatives.
• Experience working in financial services or another regulated industry.
• Familiarity with DataHub, MetaTag Pro, OneTrust, Archer, OpenPages, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
• Experience working with application inventories, metadata repositories, or data catalog platforms.
• Experience using AI tools to assist with research, documentation, or data-related tasks.
