Job Overview

Theoris Services is seeking a Senior Full Stack .NET Developer to support the ongoing development and maintenance of a statewide jail management system. This application supports critical processes across the criminal justice system, including jail operations, court-related workflows, and integrations with law enforcement agencies. This role will primarily focus on application support, troubleshooting, resolving a backlog of development work, and building utilities and administrative tools to improve application support and maintenance. The successful candidate will become a key technical resource for the application and will work closely with an experienced technical lead and development team. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior developer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, working with established enterprise applications, and taking ownership of backend development and system integrations.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing application support, troubleshooting, defect resolution, and maintenance for a statewide jail management system.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues across application components, APIs, integrations, and database layers.
• Develop utilities, administrative tools, and supporting functionality to improve application support and operational efficiency.
• Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and integrations using modern .NET technologies.
• Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL Server queries, stored procedures, and database operations.
• Contribute to full stack development using .NET and Angular or Vue.js, with a stronger emphasis on backend and server-side development.
• Support application deployment and containerized environments, including Kubernetes where applicable.
• Collaborate with the technical lead, architects, and developers to understand application functionality, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective solutions.
• Work within an Agile development environment using two-week sprints.
• Independently investigate problems, ask thoughtful questions, and take ownership of assigned work.

Requirements

• 5–7+ years of professional software development experience, with the ability to work at a senior level and contribute with minimal supervision.
• Strong hands-on experience with C# and .NET Core, including backend application development.
• Experience with Microsoft .NET Framework and maintaining existing enterprise applications.
• Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including complex queries, database troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Professional experience with Angular or Vue.js; Angular is preferred, but Vue.js is an acceptable alternative.
• Experience developing and supporting APIs, server-side applications, and system integrations.
• Ability to work independently, diagnose complex issues, and manage competing support and development priorities.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to ask questions, collaborate with technical colleagues, and explain technical issues clearly.
• A stable employment history demonstrating a reasonable commitment to previous roles.

Preferred Requirements

• Experience with Kubernetes and containerized application environments.
• Experience supporting or enhancing large, established enterprise applications.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, application deployments, and production support practices.
• Experience working with government, corrections, Department of Correction (DOC), court systems, law enforcement, or other legal and criminal justice applications.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with two-week sprint cycles.

The environment is Microsoft-stack focused. Candidates whose primary background is Oracle-based development are not the target for this position. The ideal candidate is a senior, backend-oriented .NET developer who can step into an established application environment, work through a backlog of support and development needs, and become a dependable technical resource for the team.
