Database Engineer Mid Level

With continued growth comes opportunity, and we are currently searching for a Top Secret SCI with polygraph-cleared Mid-Level Database Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical expertise for database design, development, implementation, information storage and retrieval, data flow and analysis. Develops relational and/or Object-Oriented databases, database parser software, and database loading software.
• Supports short and long term requirements for database administration and design. Responsible for developing database structures that fit into the overall architecture of the system under development and has to make trades among data volumes, number of users, logical and physical distribution, response times, retention rules, security and domain controls.
• The DBE works primarily at the front end of the lifecycle-requirements through system acceptance testing and Initial Operational Capability (IOC). Develops requirements from a project’s inception to its conclusion for a particular business and Information Technology (IT) subject matter area (i.e., simple to complex systems). Assists with recommendations for, and analysis and evaluation of systems improvements, optimization, development, and/or maintenance efforts.
• Translates a set of requirements and data into a usable database schema by creating or recreating ad hoc queries, scripts, and macros; updates existing queries, creates new ones to manipulate data into a master file; and builds complex systems using queries, tables, Open Database Connectivity and database storage and retrieval using Cloud methodologies.
• Must currently possess an active NSA TS/SCI with FS Polygraph to be considered
• Bachelor's Degree, plus 5 years of relevant experience. Associate's Degree plus 7 years of relevant experience. HS diploma or GED plus 9 years of relevant experience. Or, a Master's Degree plus 3 years of relevant experience, or a Doctoral degree and 2 years of relevant experience. Degree in English, Journalism, or Technical Writing is preferred, but a degree in any field is acceptable.
• Database experience using MongoDB or MariaDB
• Deployment and management of the database itself
• Debugging of optimization issues

Many factors can influence final salary including, but not limited to relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. Final salary can also be influenced by a position’s geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories, and contract wage rates.

The salary Range for this position is

$100,000-210,000
