Responsibilities

NSX / AVI Architect (VCF 9 & VKS Focus) The NSX/AVI Architect will work directly with customers and the VCF Architect to understand business requirements and design network, load balancing, ingress, and application delivery architecture that supports the design requirements of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF). This role focuses on high-level and low-level solution architecture and design leadership, ensuring deployments align with VMware best practices, validated reference architectures, and customer goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead design workshops and discovery sessions with customer stakeholders.
• Develop architecture diagrams, business requirements, high-level and low-level design documents for NSX and AVI.
• Provide input to transformation roadmaps and migration strategies from legacy NSX environments or other legacy network models.
• Assist and provide load balancing, ingress, and Gateway API expertise for ongoing VKS + AVI evaluations.
• Lead AVI design sessions.
• Provide automation guidance for controller deployment and AKO supervisor/cluster enablement.
• Work in concert with the VKS Architect to complete success criteria, including networking and load balancing functions covered under AVI.
• Assist with operationalizing AVI in VKS and VCF 9 environments, highlighting traffic visibility in both VCF Operations and the AVI UI.
• Collaborate with oversight architects, consultants, project managers, and partner teams to ensure designs are executed effectively.
• Review and approve design artifacts, ensuring alignment with VMware reference architectures and validated solutions.
• Act as a trusted advisor to customer executives and technical leads.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of VMware experience.
• Hands-on experience designing NSX architecture.
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing AVI Load Balancer solutions.
• Training in VCF 9 (hands-on preferred).
• Deep technical knowledge of VCF, including:
• vSphere Architecture
• NSX
• vSAN
• VCF Automation
• VCF Operations
• VMware Kubernetes Service (VKS)
• Strong communication and presentation skills for both technical and executive audiences.
• Hybrid cloud experience including VMware Cloud on AWS (VMC), Azure VMware Solution (AVS), and/or Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE).
• Physical fabric integration experience, including EVPN.
• Strong knowledge of routing protocols including BGP and OSPF.
• Understanding of highly available architectures, container networking, Gateway API, ingress technologies, and network convergence.
• Experience with Kubernetes networking, AKO integration, and load balancing architectures.
• Familiarity with VCF Suite, containerization, and enterprise automation strategies. Certifications
