Senior Java Developer

Key Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end application support for insurance-related applications, ensuring minimal disruption and timely issue resolution.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Oracle databases, Java applications, and system integrations.
• Collaborate with functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Analyze system logs, identify performance bottlenecks, and recommend system optimizations to improve the functionality and efficiency of applications.
• Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams to ensure clear communication and alignment on support priorities and requirements.
• Support and maintain general insurance applications, ensuring compliance with regulatory and business requirements.
• Monitor and report on application performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
• Assist in system upgrades, patches, and application configuration changes, ensuring minimal downtime and business continuity.
• Support data analytics functions, providing insights and reports based on application data to support business decision-making.
• Work closely with development teams to resolve technical issues and implement new functionalities in line with business needs.
• Provide on-call support and emergency response as needed to address critical application issues.
• Prepare and maintain system documentation, including application configurations, processes, and user guides.
• Continuously improve support processes and service delivery, ensuring efficient resolution of issues within established SLAs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Application Support, with a focus on General Insurance systems and processes.
• Strong experience with Oracle database administration, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in Java and its application in insurance systems.
• Techno-functional expertise, with the ability to understand both business and technical requirements.
• Solid understanding of General Insurance business processes, including underwriting, claims, policy management, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience in providing Analytics support, including generating reports, analyzing application data, and providing business insights.
• Experience with incident management, change management, and problem-solving in a support environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and analytical thinking.
• Experience with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks is a plus.
