AVP- Python Credit Risk Engineer - Risk Tech

Position / Group description

The Risk Management Technology group provides support to global Risk Management in the areas of technology and information processing for measuring, quantifying, analyzing, controlling, and reporting Risk exposures for traded securities products.

The position is for an engineer who will be part of Technology team supporting the Global Risk Management Technology group. The work assignments will include playing a key developer role in major project related work. Projects will include custom development, implementation and integration of vendor products, and enhancement/support of existing on-premises and cloud-based systems.

The Role will involve designing, developing, enhancing, testing and implementing solutions to integrate with Numerix services for the calculation of PFE and other risk measures for multiple financial products by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities; contributing to team meetings; troubleshooting issues and resolving production problems along with supporting users by developing documentation and assistance tools.

Primary Responsibilities

• Work as a Software Engineer within Risk Management Technology, contributing to the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of risk applications.
• Partner with business users, quants, project managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and implement scalable technical solutions.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, and non-functional testing to ensure solutions are ready for user acceptance testing.
• Verify implementations, troubleshoot issues, support releases, and assist with deployment of system modules into production.

Essential Experience/ Skills

• Strong Python development skills with 5+ years of relevant application development experience for AVP level.
• Strong in Design, multithreading, DSA, hands-on, backend and strong data concepts
• Experience and knowledge of SDLC and agile methodologies and development processes such as requirement gathering, analysis and definition, prototyping, proof of concept, designing and implementation
• Strong SQL skills and experience on Snowflake, Oracle or other RDBMS data platforms
• Experience across a broad range of AWS services (Amazon EKS, Lambda, EC2, S3, etc)
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics

Preferred

• Experience with Numerix OneView and/or CrossAsset
• Experience of using GIT based source control repository and tools such as Bitbucket and SourceTree.
• Experience of using Jira for full development cycle (requirement to deployment).
• Hands-on experience with Java and related enterprise frameworks
• Experience in the financial services industry with knowledge of market risk (VaR, PnL vectors, etc) and/or counterparty credit risk (PFE, PE, etc) domains
