Description
Landa is seeking an experienced Backend Software Engineer to join its Data Path team. This hands-on role requires strong software engineering skills and the ability to develop complex, multidisciplinary systems that integrate high-volume data processing, advanced algorithms, and printing hardware.
In this role, you will develop backend software that manages and transforms print job data, executes image-processing operations such as cropping and flipping, and orchestrates data flow through processing pipelines. You will work with multi-threaded architectures, manage queues and concurrent operations, and optimize the delivery of processed data all the way to the printheads of a digital printing press.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend services that manage, process, and deliver print-job data through the Data Path pipeline, from job preparation to the printheads.
- Design high-performance, multi-threaded processing pipelines, including queue management, synchronization, parallel execution, and efficient resource use.
- Implement and optimize data-processing and image-processing algorithms, including print-data transformations such as cropping and flipping, and production inspection algorithms for defect detection, calibration, and quality metrics.
- Integrate software with industrial imaging hardware, including cameras and sensors, image-acquisition boards, timing and trigger systems, and motion control.
- Own development tasks end-to-end, from design through implementation and system integration, working closely with cross-functional teams (software, algorithms, hardware, and process).
- Troubleshoot and
- resolve complex software issues in development and production environments,
- including issues that span software, algorithms, and hardware.
- Ensure high software quality through best practices, clean code, and testing, and improve existing systems by modernizing legacy applications.
Requirements
- B.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of experience in software development using C# and .NET technologies.
- Experience with C++ in production software.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, software architecture, and design patterns.
- Experience with debugging, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Advantages
- Experience with closed-loop control, calibration systems, real-time inspection, image processing, or computer vision (OpenCV or equivalent).
- Knowledge of SQL and database design.
- Experience working with hardware-integrated software systems (industrial cameras, frame grabbers, sensors, FPGA/timing, or motion control).
Attributes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High level of ownership and accountability.
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal communication skills.
- Systems-thinking mindset with the ability to understand complex multidisciplinary environments.
