Our hiring process is different at MILVETS. We want you to know that when you apply for a role, we will review your resume and application, and you are going to hear back from us, even if we don't seem like a good fit. To be completely transparent, here's what happens when you apply for a position at MILVETS.

Applying

• When you apply for a role at MILVETS, the application goes into our application tracking software. Here, a hiring team of two to four people—people you will work closely with if you are hired for this role—will review your application.

Evaluation

• The application is then evaluated by our recruiting team based on evidence that demonstrates you have the relevant skills for the job. We also evaluate each applicant's writing and communication skills, along with their knowledge of MILVETS as a company. We realize that no candidate is flawless, so we look for candidates who excel in one or two skills, and then build teams around these people to supplement where teammates aren't as strong.

Job Fit Interview

• Once we have reviewed the initial batch of applicants, the top five to ten applicants will have a conversation about the role with the recruiting team. Here you'll be asked questions that dig into your relevant experience for this role, and you'll have a chance to evaluate whether or not MILVETS matches up with the values you want to have in an employer. If you don't make it to this step, you'll hear back from us letting you know we're passing over your application for this role.

Skills Interview

• After talking with the recruiting team, you'll go through a skills interview with the hiring manager. This is a practical evaluation to see if you have the relevant skills to succeed in the role. You won't be evaluated on skills that don't matter. If you don't make it to this step, you'll hear back from us letting you know we're passing over your application for this role. For some positions, we'll also evaluate relevant skills by administering a short exercise done outside of the interview.

Final Decision

• After the skills interview, we evaluate each candidate who made it to the skills interview, and the hiring team makes a decision. If multiple candidates meet our hiring bar, we'll select the best candidate and ask for references. If no candidates meet the hiring bar, we then solicit more candidates and repeat at step two.

Reference Checks

• During the reference check, we reach out to the references you provided to get a better idea of what it's like to work with you. Lastly, we promise that we will never reach out to your existing employer without your permission.

Offer

• Once references are complete, we'll make an offer to you including details about salary, benefits and other relevant compensation details. Hopefully you'll accept the offer and we can start working out a start date and onboarding plan.

At each point in this process, we promise not to go silent on you. We strive to never go more than seven days without letting you know the status of your application.

Air Combat Command’s Combat Air Forces Distributed Training Center (CAF DTC) at Langley AFB, VA. Daily, the CAF DTC provides world-class integration training in large force and small team formats to combat units around the globe against cutting-edge threats in a boundless virtual battle space.

Position Summary

The Level 2 Cyber Systems Administrator supports enterprise IT infrastructure, virtualization environments, and mission-critical network systems. This role focuses on daily operations, system sustainment, patching, troubleshooting, and supporting distributed mission training environments in a high-tempo defense setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and perform health checks on enterprise network and system infrastructure
• Provide daily operations support, system maintenance, patching, and ticket resolution
• Support incident response, troubleshooting, escalation, and technical reporting
• Assist with configuration, deployment, and sustainment of enterprise systems
• Collaborate with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) on engineering support activities
• Support cybersecurity compliance validation and system assessment efforts
• Document technical issues, resolutions, and system procedures
• Contribute to process improvements and system optimization initiatives

Required Education, Certification, Clearance & Technology

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline)
• Active DoD Secret Clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI and SAP/SAR access
• DoD 8140 IAT Level II certification required within 6 months (e.g., Security+, CySA+, CISSP)

Required Technology Experience

• Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM): application packaging, deployment, OS imaging, task sequencing, patch management, compliance baselines, client/server troubleshooting
• Windows Server Update Services (WSUS): configuration, maintenance, synchronization, approval workflows, troubleshooting, MECM integration
• VMware vSphere/ESXi: VM provisioning, resource allocation, snapshots, performance monitoring, HA/DRS concepts, virtual networking
• Windows Server 2016–2025 and Windows 11 administration
• Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy (GPOs), file and print services
• PowerShell and Bash scripting
• Monitoring tools and log analysis platforms
• Experience working in enterprise-scale IT environments

Experience Requirements

• 2+ years of relevant experience (Master’s degree may substitute for up to 2 years)

Preferred Qualifications

• PKI / Certificate Services (ADCS, SSL/TLS, certificate lifecycle management)
• Ansible automation and infrastructure-as-code practices
• Microsoft Exchange (on-premises or hybrid environments)
• CI/CD or automation pipeline exposure
• Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills

• Up to 10% travel required
