Job Description

Software Engineer with a passion for building world-class experiences for large audiences. The position includes opportunities to work with state-of-the-art web technologies and large-scale infrastructure. This is a great position if you like creating customer solutions with hands-on development in addition to improving core software infrastructure.

The ideal candidate has experience building large-capacity consumer-facing websites, experience working with new technologies, and a desire to build great products for new and expecting parents.

Duties

• Collaborate with team members to develop consumer and sales features of the highest quality within promised timelines.
• Actively participate in team agile planning and retrospectives to decompose requirements and estimate stories
• Create automated tests for key features and collaborate with the team Quality Analyst to ensure any feature developed is fully tested.
• Validate feature success through instrumentation and monitoring.

Requirements

• 5+ years delivering engineering web solutions in Java/Spring/Hibernate
• Demonstrable experience in service-oriented architecture
• Experience implementing typical Model, DAO, Service, and Controller patterns
• Previous experience developing fast, reliable code operating on a large scale
• Demonstrable experience as a strong problem solver with ability to quickly understand new technologies
• Strong, professional communication skills
• Experience in working in a cross-functional, team-based agile environment
• Bachelor’s or Master’s computer science degree, or equivalent experience

Preference given to candidates who meet these criteria

• Experience with GIT and gitflow
• Experience in Selenium WebDriver
• Spring MVC, Tiles, Jsp rendering
• Experience designing and creating REST web services
• Client-side web programming (JavaScript, AJAX, HTML, XML)
