Job Description;

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our dynamic team in the Transaction Banking Technology space. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working across multiple software platforms, cloud-native technologies, and SaaS solutions, with an interest in applying modern AI-assisted and agentic software development practices.

This role involves contributing to the architecture, design, development, integration, and modernization of enterprise systems across various Transaction Banking initiatives. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical proficiency, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to delivering secure, scalable, resilient, and highly available solutions.

You will work closely with global cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system integration, platform reliability, and adoption of modern engineering practices across AWS, OpenShift, cloud-native platforms, and AI-enabled development environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to technical planning and architectural decisions for mission-critical systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, resiliency, security, and performance.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand project requirements, scope, and objectives and translate them into actionable technical solutions and implementation designs.
  • Develop and maintain Java and Spring Boot-based applications and microservices, including REST APIs and event-driven integrations using technologies such as Kafka and IBM MQ.
  • Design and implement cloud-native applications running on AWS and Red Hat OpenShift, leveraging containerized and microservices-based architectures.
  • Design and develop data persistence solutions using relational databases, including PostgreSQL, with an emphasis on database design, SQL optimization, performance, availability, and scalability.
  • Implement performance-tuning strategies and monitor application and platform health using tools such as Splunk and SonarQube, supporting continuous improvement and effective incident resolution.
  • Support system modernization, upgrades, and scalability initiatives spanning legacy, hybrid, SaaS, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Implement and integrate SaaS-based platforms while ensuring adherence to enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, resiliency, and software engineering standards.
  • Apply AI-assisted and agentic programming approaches to improve software development productivity, including code generation, testing, documentation, debugging, code modernization, and development workflow automation.
  • Explore and implement appropriate Large Language Model (LLM) and agentic AI capabilities, including LLM-based applications, AI agents, tool integration, retrieval/context-based patterns, prompt engineering, and responsible use of enterprise AI technologies.
  • Maintain compliance with industry standards and internal governance while ensuring robust security, data protection, and regulatory alignment.
  • Partner with architecture, platform engineering, cybersecurity, DevOps, QA, and other technology teams to improve software development practices, automated testing, CI/CD, code quality, observability, and production reliability.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience developing and supporting enterprise systems.
  • Proven expertise in Java, Spring Boot, SQL, REST APIs, and microservices, with additional experience in technologies such as Angular, JavaScript, Kafka, IBM MQ, and Docker.
  • Hands-on experience developing or deploying applications on AWS, including cloud-native and distributed application architectures.
  • Experience with Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, or comparable container orchestration technologies.
  • Strong working knowledge of relational databases, with experience in PostgreSQL, database design, SQL development, and performance optimization.
  • Experience working in Agile and DevOps teams, preferably in a Lead Developer or senior engineering capacity, with exposure to CI/CD and automated software delivery.
  • Strong background in enterprise application development, including backend API design, microservices, event-driven architecture, integration patterns, and database architecture.
  • Demonstrated experience optimizing application and system performance and building scalable, resilient, and highly available systems.
  • Experience with cloud and hybrid infrastructure, including integration between cloud-based, SaaS, and on-premises platforms.
  • Experience with or demonstrated knowledge of AI-assisted software engineering, Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, and agentic programming patterns. Experience in applying AI technologies to software development, testing, modernization, or enterprise application use cases is preferred.
  • Understanding of modern AI application concepts such as prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents, tool/function calling, and enterprise AI security and governance is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to deliver high-impact technical solutions.
  • Adept at cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder engagement, troubleshooting, and production incident resolution.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving business and technology requirements and contribute to ongoing product and platform innovation.
