Job Description
OCI Cloud Infrastructure Architect/Specialist The Cloud Infrastructure Architect/Specialist will provide architecture, engineering, implementation, migration, and operational support for PeopleSoft and its supporting Oracle technologies on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
The consultant will be responsible for designing, building, configuring, securing, automating, and supporting highly available OCI environments. The supported technology stack includes PeopleSoft, Oracle WebCenter Content and Imaging Suite, Oracle Identity and Access Management Suite, Oracle SOA Suite, Oracle WebLogic Server, Oracle Database, and Oracle Kubernetes Engine (OKE).
The consultant will assess the current on-premises environment, develop and implement the target-state OCI architecture, and support the migration of application, middleware, database, integration, identity-management, and content-management components to OCI. Responsibilities will include configuring OCI compute, storage, networking, load balancing, DNS, identity and access management, security, monitoring, backups, and disaster recovery.
The consultant will also design, build, and support OKE clusters and containerized workloads, including cluster networking, ingress, persistent storage, certificates, secrets, monitoring, and security. The position will implement infrastructure automation using Terraform, OCI Resource Manager, Ansible, scripting, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
The consultant will work closely with application development, PeopleSoft administration, database, middleware, network, cybersecurity, cloud, and operations teams. The consultant will participate in architecture reviews, technical workshops, environment builds, migration testing, production cutovers, disaster recovery exercises, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and production support.
The consultant will be responsible for developing and maintaining architecture diagrams, technical designs, migration plans, build procedures, configuration documents, operational runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge-transfer materials.
The successful candidate must have extensive experience designing, implementing, or supporting enterprise OCI environments for mission-critical applications. Strong technical knowledge of PeopleSoft, Oracle middleware, OCI networking, Linux, Kubernetes, automation, high availability, security, backup, and disaster recovery is required. OCI professional-level certification is strongly preferred.
The consultant must be available to support production implementations, cutovers, disaster recovery exercises, and critical incidents outside normal business hours when required.
- Minimum of 10 years of cloud, infrastructure engineering, or technical architecture experience.
- Minimum of three years of hands-on OCI architecture, engineering, or administration experience.
- Demonstrated experience designing, building, or supporting enterprise OCI environments for mission-critical applications.
- Experience supporting the migration of PeopleSoft and Oracle middleware workloads to OCI.
- Strong knowledge of OCI networking, compute, storage, load balancing, IAM, DNS, monitoring, logging, backup, security, and disaster recovery.
- Experience with Oracle WebCenter Content and Imaging, Oracle Identity and Access Management, Oracle SOA Suite, WebLogic Server, Oracle Database, and OKE.
- Strong understanding of VCNs, subnets, DRGs, FastConnect, routing, firewalls, network security groups, DNS, TLS certificates, and hybrid-cloud connectivity.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containers, OKE, ingress, persistent storage, certificates, and secrets management.
