Job Description & Summary

At PwC Australia, your skills meet purpose. We tackle big challenges across industries like finance, technology, energy, and health, giving you the chance to make a real impact. Here, your growth is our priority. You’ll work with leading teams, explore new technologies, and unlock your full potential.

Join a global community of more than 370,000 people who value bold ideas, collaboration, and lasting change. Together, we’re building trust and shaping the future.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager to join our Brisbane Cyber & Privacy team. You will lead client engagements at the intersection of cyber governance, risk and compliance (GRC), security transformation and implementation, helping organisations move beyond identifying gaps to designing, building and embedding better security capabilities.

This is a hands-on consulting leadership role. You will own delivery outcomes, build trusted client relationships, contribute to proposals and opportunities within our established client base, and develop the next generation of cyber professionals.

What you’ll do

  • Lead delivery end to end. Own a portfolio of complex, sometimes multi-workstream engagements from discovery and design through implementation, transition and measurable uplift. Use AI-enabled tools and delivery approaches to improve insight, accelerate execution and transform how cyber services are delivered, while applying appropriate human judgement, quality controls and responsible AI practices. Manage scope, project finances, milestones, risks, resourcing and quality.
  • Turn GRC into action. Translate cyber risk, regulatory obligations and security strategies into practical control designs, operating models, uplift roadmaps, processes and implemented improvements that clients can sustain.
  • Bring technical credibility. Work confidently with technical specialists to challenge and shape viable solutions across areas such as cloud and platform security, identity, security operations, vulnerability management and control implementation.
  • Own client relationships. Lead workshops and steering discussions, communicate clearly with executives and delivery teams, manage expectations and become a trusted adviser on complex cyber issues.
  • Help grow the practice. Shape responses to RFPs and tenders, define scopes and statements of work, build compelling proposals and identify follow-on opportunities with existing clients.
  • Lead and develop people. Manage direct reports and engagement teams, delegate effectively, provide constructive feedback and coaching, and build a culture of accountability and quality.

Core Skills

  • Cyber GRC, AI and transformation experience. A strong track record in cyber consulting, risk and control improvement, including experience using AI to accelerate and transform traditional cyber GRC activities such as risk and control analysis, evidence review, regulatory mapping, reporting and the development of policies, frameworks and uplift roadmaps. You bring evidence of having delivered and embedded change, not only completed assessments or written recommendations.
  • Sound technical foundations. Broad understanding of core security concepts, AI, technologies, architectures, threats and controls, with the judgement to connect business risk to technically credible solutions.
  • Commercial delivery discipline. Experience leading projects and teams, managing budgets and margins, prioritising work, allocating resources and delivering to agreed commitments.
  • Confident leadership and communication. The ability to influence senior stakeholders, guide multidisciplinary teams and coach people with different levels of experience.
  • A collaborative growth mindset. Experience supporting business development, proposals and account growth. An existing client portfolio or extensive personal sales network is not required.

Desirable Skills

  • Consulting background. Experience in professional services or a comparable client-facing environment. Management Consulting experience is welcome but not essential; fresh perspectives are valued.
  • Qualifications. CISSP, CISM or comparable cyber security credentials.
  • Industry expertise. Experience in financial services or energy, utilities and resources, including exposure to relevant obligations and frameworks such as APRA CPS 234/CPS 230, the Security of Critical Infrastructure (SOCI) regime and the Australian Energy Sector Cyber Security Framework (AESCSF). Familiarity with NIST CSF, ISO 27001 and the Essential Eight is also valuable.

What you’ll gain

  • Leadership development programs and executive coaching designed to help you inspire teams and accelerate your career growth.
  • A culture valuing diverse perspectives, empowering leaders to drive innovation and collaboration, learn more about our commitment to Inclusion and Diversity and First Nations Prosperity
  • A world-class parental leave policy offering up to 26 weeks of leave for caregivers, supporting your family and personal life.
  • Flexibility means trusting you to choose when, where, and how you work, balancing what’s best for you, your team, and your clients to grow and thrive together.
  • Being part of a community united by purpose, delivering impact that reaches clients, communities, and the future you’re shaping.

We know that perks are as important as your financial rewards. Explore all the benefits that PwC has to offer here.
