Job Description

Daily Duties / Responsibilities

• Analyze the SCDMV Phoenix II, web service, and batch business applications.
• Take the lead in analyzing and troubleshooting assigned system problems.
• Propose solutions.
• Code, test, promote, and interact with impacted users, ensuring that solutions meet requirements.
• Provide daily and weekly status updates to the Development Manager.

Required Skills (Ranked in Order of Importance)

• 8+ years of development experience with Micro Focus Visual COBOL on Windows Server 2019/2022, including batch processing and IIS-based applications.
• 4+ years of experience with Visual Studio 2019/2022, including strong debugging skills.
• 4+ years of application programming experience with RDBMS (Oracle, SQL).
• Bachelor's degree in IT or a related discipline with 8 years of experience, or minimum 10 years of related experience without a degree.

Preferred Skills (Ranked in Order of Importance)

• Experience with Micro Focus COBOL version 7 or higher.
• Ability to write complex SQL queries for Oracle and MS SQL databases.
• IIS configuration and setup experience.
• Proficiency in C# and .NET.
• Microsoft Certification (please specify the certification on the resume).
• Micro Focus Certification (please specify the certification on the resume).

Required Education

• Bachelor's degree in an Information Technology–related discipline with 8 years of experience,

OR

• Minimum 10 years of related experience without a degree.

Required Certifications

• Not required, but Microsoft technical certifications will be considered during the selection process.
• Micro Focus certifications are a significant advantage.
