About the company

Our client is a software company.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Design, build and ship AI-driven software from early prototype to production while working side by side with public-sector partners in their own environments. The position combines applied AI engineering with production systems work and calls for clear explanations of technical topics to non-technical audiences.

What you'll do

  • Design and deliver applications powered by large language models, including autonomous agents that use tools and retrieve information from data sources.
  • Work on-site with partner teams to understand their needs and help them adopt the solutions successfully.
  • Create the data preparation and model assessment workflows that feed ongoing model improvement.
  • Maintain the infrastructure used to serve, test and release models.
  • Convert raw data, models and internal tooling into dependable operational capabilities.
  • Take responsibility for a system from initial scoping through launch and ongoing hardening, including security and uptime.
  • Explain technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders and represent the company professionally.

Requirements

What we're looking for

  • 1 to 4 years of production software engineering experience.
  • Strong Python skills and a history of delivering systems end to end.
  • Hands-on experience building LLM-based applications and autonomous agent systems.
  • Solid engineering fundamentals and real depth of technical understanding.
  • Experience owning data workflows and the supporting machine learning infrastructure.
  • Excellent verbal communication and a collaborative, low-ego working style.
  • Ability to work in the office five days a week and to be located in, or relocate quickly to, the area.
  • US citizenship is required for some positions on the team.
  • Availability to start as soon as possible.

Bonus points

  • Active US security clearance.
  • Experience on government, defense or national security programs.
  • Background with healthcare data or fraud analytics.
  • Experience tuning and evaluating models on custom datasets.
  • Exposure to reinforcement learning or simulated training environments.
  • Experience as a startup founder or founding engineer.
